Australians are desperate to adopt anyone who has any success as Australian. They do
It all the time. The list is literally endless

I guess he means Labuschagne, born in SAF, left at 10 years old. Not too unlike our own Ben Stokes really, born in NZ...

See comment below from the journo... He's got a point.

You might have noted that it was in the context of a role at Westminster or Whitehall for Stokes. It was not a reference to cricket, but to a ridiculous fiasco in Australia politics two years ago when because of an obscure provision in the constitution, we booted out nearly all our non-Australian born MPs.

    Incredible innings from Stokes
    Best I have ever seen.
The pressure he was under yet to stay so calm.
Leach also deserves a mention a perfect foil for Stokes.
This is why we love sport for days like yesterday.

Do you need two pair of glasses without varifocals or do you have ok eyesight at one end and only need glasses for far or honest sight?
Reason I ask is I only need glasses for things in the distance and struggled doing that when snowboarding so the optician suggested I only wear one contact lens. Works really well as your brain adjusts without you realising and I can see at both ends of the scale like that (not quite as well at distance as with glasses but nearly as good)

Like you say, very occasionally you're fortunate enough to witness a player 'in the zone', when the adrenalines pumping and they are seeing it like a football ( Botham '81 springs to mind). To do that in a run chase with all that pressure, but remain clear thinking was absolutely phenomenal. Not sure I've ever witnessed anything even close to that. oh hang on a few months ago in the WC final.

I have varifocal glasses. On my normal contacts my right eye is 3.5 Left eye 1.00. When I first tried varifocal contacts it was great. But after a while it started to get worse when looking at my laptop. They seem a bit bigger than the normal ones. And my eyes get a bit dry.

It really is sour grapes the Aussie media saying Stokes was out. He wasn't, the umpire said not out and it stands. Post reviews many a batsman was not given out or given out LBW based on the umpire's decision, and the decision stood, as it did in this case.

As someone posted on twitter replying to one of the Aussie papers remarks saying he was out. "Serves you right for reviewing a previous appeal when the ball spun It was missing the stumps by a mile and would have finished up in Bradford. Stupid Twats.

..... They crumbled under massive pressure from some incredible cricket. All part of the game, it's played in the head as well, and that's part of the reason his innings was so special, he kept his cool, Aussies didn't. Simple as (with a little help from Mr Wilson)
