Also Strachan at 34/35 played 43 games for us and then when he was 35/36 made 38 appearances - Hernadez can have a bad day and not be ready for the glue factory yet - we just need another creative outlet in th team to both take the pressure of him and give him more freedom (or need others to get goals earlier so we're not looking just to him to unlock games for us).
There’s no room for sentimentality in football and to get promoted you have to be ruthless. Pablo is without doubt our most technically skilful player but there is no way in a month of Mothering Sunday’s does he set up that chance that Costa did for Eddie last Wednesday in the way it was done. This team has been crying out for pace for years and now we’ve got it. For me Costa needs to play and then it’s two from Pablo, Klich and Forshaw. I also don’t think Bielsa’s formation should change to play both Eddie and Bamford, as he really only believes in “making plan A work”, the only time last season we looked disjointed was when Roofe and bamford started together. Both of them get themselves into goal scoring positions so pick the one you think is most likely to score from them imo.
My point about Pablo was the absolute bollocks that was aimed at him on social forums after having a poor game(by his standards) Have these faceless clowns forgotten what he did for the team last year. As for Costa, its early days and if and when he gets a decent run in the team, then I'll judge him..
Strachan put his age defying performances down to bananas. It was never clear whether he meant eating bananas or being bananas. Bit of both probably.
We should take Pablo & Phillips off now and get all our outfield subs on, certainly McCalmont and Shackleton.
