They should get kicked out of the league to be honest. Bolton have already had at least one game postponed in the past few months or so. It's ridiculous, and not fair on the other clubs. They're a big name, but so are Notts County.

Some how Bolton managed to convince the EFL to allow them to play. But not Bury. Bury have to convince the EFL by midday this Friday otherwise their 2nd game will also be suspended.

    BOLTON WANDERERS

At its meeting today, the EFL Board was appraised of the position in regard to the outstanding information requested in respect of ongoing matters at Bolton Wanderers.

The Board has fully considered the Club’s further submissions and is satisfied that they are sufficient to meet the requirements of the League subject to the completion of formal documentation.

As a result the EFL Board has opted not to suspend their opening day fixture with Wycombe Wanderers and it will remain as originally scheduled on Saturday 3 August 2019 at 3pm.

    BURY

Following continued and comprehensive discussions with the ownership at Bury and other interested parties throughout Monday, the EFL Board is not satisfied it has received the necessary evidence in regard to the outstanding information it requires that demonstrates how the Club will be funded moving forwards.

As a result of not meeting Monday’s 5pm deadline, which had been extended on two previous occasions, the EFL Board feels it has been placed in an unenviable position and, regrettably, has opted to take the reluctant decision to suspend Saturday’s opening day fixture with MK Dons under the provision of EFL Regulation 28.2.

In addition, the EFL Board, if not in possession of the necessary evidence by 12pm on Friday 2 August 2019, will make a determination as to whether to suspend Bury’s away fixture at Accrington Stanley on Saturday 10 August 2019.

As has been the case throughout this entire process, the EFL will continue to offer its full assistance to the ownership at Bury, but remains clear that while the League is here to support the Club through some extremely complex and complicated issues, the outstanding matters can only be resolved with the cooperation from the Club itself.

Interesting statement from Steven Dale { Bury's Chairman } on their official website this morning, you might have to take some of it with a pinch of salt as I think he comes across as somewhat of a 'gobby' individual at times but nonetheless intriguing, will be very interesting to see how this one eventually plays out.

Nope. Midnight was the deadline 100%. Here is the EFL statement yesterday for confirmation...

The EFL Board has this afternoon been appraised of the very latest position in respect of ongoing matters at Bury Football Club.

As of 5pm there has been limited progress made either by the current ownership providing the required evidence in regard to outstanding financial information, or through a change of control being achieved with new owners.

The EFL will continue to provide all support available and will keep working to find a resolution to the ongoing issues ahead of the Notice of Withdrawal deadline, which remains at 11.59 PM on Friday 23 August.

If a successful solution is not found ahead of tonight’s deadline, the Club’s share in the EFL will be withdrawn and its membership in the League will come to an end.

The EFL will move to confirm the position as soon as possible, with an update to be provided on Saturday 24 August.

    https://www.efl.com/news/2019/august/statement-bury-fc/

About 10.30pm (approx) the EFL were notified that the club had been sold. However that is subject to change because the new owners want an extension to sort out the deal in full. So if the EFL says no to the extension then club not sold and they be gone. If EFL says yes then they will probably be saved. EFL are yet to make a decision so Bury don't know their fate yet. EFL left it at this last night on twitter....

“The EFL has this evening received notification that Steve Dale has accepted an offer from C&N Sporting Risk for the sale of Bury FC. We are currently in discussions with the potential purchaser and await information to allow the Board to consider a request for an extension to Friday’s deadline.”

    New EFL statement on Bury:
The EFL Board remains firmly of the view that the League cannot be in a position whereby any more of the Club’s 2019/20 fixtures will be suspended due to the integrity of the competition, the impact on other clubs in the League and therefore has stated that matters must be concluded by 5pm on Tuesday 27 August 2019. If in the event a successful outcome is not achieved by this point, then Bury FC’s share in the EFL will be withdrawn and its membership in the League will come to an end.

    New EFL statement on Bolton:
Having been previously advised in writing on the morning of the start of the season that the deal was all but agreed and only awaiting completion signatures, there has been constant contradictory information and no finalisation of the deal. The current situation cannot continue and the time to resolve the current impasse is now fast running out. If a successful conclusion to a sale is not found or there are no credible plans for the Club to continue the season in administration by 5pm on Tuesday 27 August 2019, then Bolton's share in the EFL will be withdrawn and its membership in the League will come to an end.

We could be down to 22 teams come 5pm this coming Tuesday.

Back when I was a young lad Newport county had financial problems and Man Utd took their 1st team to Rodney Parade for a friendly to raise funds for the club to keep them going. With the vast amount of money going into the premier league why cant one of them do something similar

Bayern do that a lot to struggling financial teams in Germany. They even helped rivals Dortmund with a cash loan not too long ago!

The 2 big Manchester clubs have offered help by means of loan players if both Bury and Bolton survive. So if they do survive, they get top players who will probably help them catch up those minus points. And in Boltons case, they will be stronger rather than lose 5-0 each week. So Boltons opponents so far have the advantage over the teams who could face them with a much stronger side.

I had heard about Bayern helping teams who had been less fortunate than themselves

Latest statement Bury, not what their fans wanted to hear. Nothing since!

Bury Football Club would like to issue the following statement to supporters.

We understand that this is a difficult and emotional time for all supporters given the recent news regarding a potential takeover.

While the Club are working hard looking at other potential avenues with other interested parties, we would like to remind supporters that no one should gain access to inside the stadium (unless authorised).

CCTV is installed at Gigg Lane, and anyone damaging Club property or trespassing into the stadium itself will be identified and appropriately dealt with by the Police, who will have access to current and previous CCTV footage.

We would like to urge supporters to remain patient and respectful for Club property.

Bury have received 3 late offers to buy the club, 1 from the ex owner of Gateshead Joseph Cala, 1 via a Swiss Firm and 1 via Bury South MP Ivan Lewis, they have all been passed on to the EFL

I thought that The Ironsides moved to Rodney Parade in 2012, have they been in trouble since then ? I thought it was their Hellenic League day’s when they were exiled to Moreton - in - Marsh when they were struggling a tad, that’s of course until Mr Scadding came calling !

The Shakers are gonners whilst The Trotters have a 14 day stay of execution, currently 23 teams will now compete in League one with just three relegated this term.

A sad day for Bury FC and all who are associated with the club, it must be a really bitter pill to swallow having followed a football club all of your life and then to see it's demise in the way in which this has played out. Hopefully Bury FC can carry on in some kind of capacity and work their way back up the pyramid in the way that Newport County have.
