    I so hope not.

Come on Pardew you know you want to play 1 up front (with that 1 striker being anyone but Shola. Rather have Harper up there than him :emoticon-0105-wink:).

Sadly I think he will. I'd genuinely rather play Lovenkrands as a lone striker.

  3. I don't understand why we'd play Shola. I understood before because, even though he's actually ****e in the air, he was the only one of our strikers that ever won a header, but now we know Leon Best is far more effective in ever aspect, so we should play him upfront if we're playing 4-5-1 or w/e.

Best wins most in the air, can control a ball, skin a defender, make chances for himself and his scoring record in the PL speaks for itself.

Best should be playing by himself, Ba should come on as sub.

  4. I think Lover is a better overall player than Best and Shola, but he's a weak as piss striker. Lover is good when he's got something to do. He can pass quite well, has good pace, decent dribbling, and can score the odd goal. But you can't play him upfront, because he gets raped by defenders.

If we were gonna play Lover it should be in an attacking mid role or in a free role.

I cant remember the last time he did this. Can anyone tell me the last time he did (without fouling someone in the process)?

He's a striker. I was making a sensationalist statement to get my point across but even he is a better option up front than Shola, at least he runs and might latch onto a through ball now and then.

  7. Lover is normally a passenger when upfront though. He just runs at knock downs and through balls all game.

In an attacking mid role you can get the best out of him.

I dont understand why you think he can play AM? He's not very technical or a great passer, just has a bit of pace and can sit on the shoulder of the last defender looking for flick ons or through balls.

  10. He is a technical player mate. All his assists (6 of them) were crosses or passes.

He also passes well with the team. He can also dribble and control the ball quite well. He's a lot more technical than our other strikers, apart from Ba.

The only alternative would be from headers, and Lover doesnt win headers. He's a hard worker, but he isnt technical. I'm sure we've had the same argument about Nolan.

Shola’s the sort of player who, on his day, is unplayable

I don't know how many managers I've heard say that

Ben Arfa and Santon get injured but Shola is fine. Nice one Zeus, I owe you a butchered lamb.
