How have some of you got Torres on the wing/inside forward? The only way he will ever excel for you is as a lone striker to capitalise on his great finishing (current form aside) and the fact he plays better with his back to play. He played well for us before the world cup then Spain shoved him on the wing (<doh>) and wondered why he was crap!! The problem with Torres is that it's all or nothing. You either play him up front on his own and expect him to perform (risky) or you don't play him at all. IMHO you can't have half measures where he's on the wing, he'll just be a waste of space there.

Edit: just realised it was you gonzo who said that! You should know better than to put Torres anywhere else than upfront!

I thought he was class, and never stopped trying.

Based on form I would now revise my front three and midfield into:

    ----------Torres

    Sturridge - Mata - Anelka

    ------Mereiles - Ramires

    Sorry Lamps.

:D That was funny, I'm looking at getting Torres into a formation that doesn't suit him and to take the responsibility of scoring away from him. Something is not right with him and it may need a change of position to sort him out.

A lot of his Liverpool goals came from wide areas so it may work and also get both Sturridge and Torres into the team.

Torres looked alot better last night! I think its only a matter of time before he grabs a goal and the gets back to his old ways! He is certainly working hard for it and looks more comfortable than he has ever been at chelsea! you can see the players are right behind him too!

If the manager is to be believed he did say rotation will play it's part. In his mind no first eleven or even secret best eleven no matter how hard that is for anyone else to understand. Heads shake, that can not be true, even the most hardened rotationalist ( I think I just made this word up) knows which player is the absolute best in each position. Well no really because the players themselves are not universal constants. About to do a Cantona/Jose type stylee. Even a pound of sugar doesn't always weigh a pound, even if it did when you put it in the bag. It can get damp making it a bit heavier, or some could leak out of the corner creases making it lighter. The trick is to know if it is damp or if the bag has any holes. If so use a different bag of sugar you know is dry and in a new bag. Team game, squad game, until they decide to stop all cups and make the season 4 matches and even then I bet statistically you'll probably still need substitutes.

If I'm reading this right PolarBear, we could win the quadruple if we make sure all the sugar at SB is confined in sealed containers! I'm not sure how this is going to change things but what the hell! I'll give it a go!

Yes, Tupperware party at SB right now. All the sugar in sealed containers placed in a stasis field. While we are about it all the honey to and one or twelve boxes of dried seal jerky.
