Article published in the Fail today about City griding out 1-0 wins as an art. http://www.thisishullandeastriding....says-McKenna/story-13342122-detail/story.html It may well be an art but its also a snore fest for the majority of games. Not saying I would'nt take 1-0 wins all season long but think we should be aiming at scoring more and looking more threatened instead of trying to master the art of the snatch and grab.
His article also mentions teams coming to the KC with the aim of getting the home fans on the teams back! He's Fu<king right. Half the supporters at the KC haven't got the brains to see this! That's why being an away supporter you don't get that vitriolic behaviour towards your own team. Why would you boo them? You've travelled hundreds of miles to support them! I get depressed at the behaviour of fellow fans at the KC, we are our own worst enemy at home. Let's hope the fans do their bit tomorrow.

Portsmouth will be a good test for us tomororw, they do have some quality in there squad theres no doubt about that as do all the teams in this league, however I believe we will turn them over tomorrow. They have a fair few week links in there team, Ben Haim being one of them!
He's not claiming it's an ideal situation - just that it's better if we finish 1-0 when we're not paricularly shining/running away with the match.
That's probably the main reason why our home and away results are the reverse of the norm. Some supporters can't understand this and think because they pay their money they can do what they like, but it's a chicken and egg situation. I wonder how many City players would say the most hostile ground they go to is the KC? Also I don't agree with the OP's suggestion that we are trying to win games 1-0. That is just the way things are going at the moment, but NP has criticised the strikers several times already this season for their lack of finishing. Its not fair to demonise the manager for the mistakes of the players. All he can do is coach them and send them out on the pitch.
Well put CiN - People criticize NP for 'boring' football, but it's not down to him IMO. We've got players who should score. But, if they don't, any lapse by our (generally good) defence means we are faced with possible defeat.
would you rather have 1-0 wins? or 3-1/ 4-2 losses like the PB era. you can't have the cake and eat. The same people whinging about the snore fest are the ones asking for us to sort out the defense
Mckenna speaks a lot of sense in that article. Fans that expect to go attacking for 90 minutes are living in fantasy land, probably think footballs like what they see playing ps3 , or xbox games. Like I said before, when you've seen the hard times in the lower divisions, then you will take a 1-0 win in the Championship all day long.
According to that article we recorded consecutive victories over Reading and PORTSMOUTH. Bloody useless, I'd kill for that job.
read it perfectly well 1st time. He put losses and I put WINS Nobody wants us to lose. But we need to win by more than 1 goal.
Well then, that argument makes no sense whatsoever, does it? He says, would you like 1-0 wins or 3-1 losses? Your retort is 'I would take 3-1 wins.' He didn't give you that option! Of course nobody wants us to lose, but the point was that a 1-0 win is clearly better than losing 3-1 or 4-2. And why do we need to win by more than 1 goal? Obviously it's nice to record bigger wins from time to time but a win is a win.
Arguement??? My REPORT? Is it silly to ask would we prefer to win or lose. Who wants us to lose??? We need more entertaining goal scring games thats my point, seen too many 0-0's or 1-0's thus far. I find some results of this kind mind numbingly boring.
No. Not your arguement. Your argument. And no. Not your REPORT. Your retort. To be honest, I'll take 1-0s all season long if it means we get 3 points on the board. If we're winning games and it's still not good enough for you then I politely suggest that you don't bother turning up.
