Watched Dortmund for a while and they are such a great team to watch- like arsenal during the invicibles era. Much like wenger he's built his team from relative unknowns to play (and win) with style. In comparison, arsenal look so pedestrian and clueless. Nothing to do with the players, they are quality but the plays and tactics are non existent at the moment. I do wonder what goes on at colney sometimes? Seems the only thing to come out of training is injuries!

Back on topic, massive fan though I am of wenger, I think he has stagnated at the club. I reckon successful or not wenger will go at the end of this season. And I hope it is in a shower of glory for all he's done for us to emerge from the dark rioch days. I for one would wish him well and thank him heartily for his servitude, but i would be delighted to see mr klopp settling comfortably into wengers vacated seat in the dug-out.

    What do you guys think?

It doesnt matter what your tactics are if the opposition dont let you play them. Believe it or not, the oppo have a say in the game too and Dortmund were good in attack and defense. A draw is a good result away at that place.

He's exactly like Wenger, performing well in a foreign league with a team that was worse when he took over.

He's worked wonders for dortmund, so he shouldn't do badly if he were to be arsene's successor.

  7. I love the name Klopp! It sounds like a character out of 'Allo 'Allo!

Would be better if he was called Von Klopp, though.

Good manager. Has his team playing a very good style of football. Just one of many that we have to look at when the time comes to replace Wenger.

Bit harsh to base it on one game though. He did win the league last year and in some style too.

Martin Allen won league 2 with Notts County last year. Maybe we should consider him as well? :p

Yes ive said it before he's the perfect replacement for Wenger.

The German league is far better than people realise these days. Its over-taken Italy in the uefa rankings and is now the second most watched league in the world.

The german national team is looking very strong with ALOT of young talent coming through and both Dortmund and Bayern are a match for anyone in Europe.

Just because his current team aren't superior to Arsenal doesn't mean that the changes he's made at the club don't make him a suitable candidate. There's only so much you can do within the restrictions he has upon him.

German teams will always have problems winning the CL as in their league, they have financial restraints to do with debt and losses that do not apply in the Premiership for example. That said, no one mentioned him as a potential successor to Wenger before last night. If they had not equalised with a wonder goal,I am sure he would not be a topic for debate today.
