Respect to him. Celebrated his goal, but resisted the urge to run towards the pitch side cameras, in front of the home fans. Kissed the St Mary’s turf too. Van Dijk - ****ing imperious as ever. He didn’t get booed at St Mary’s this time because a) he’s a European champion now, and b) it doesn’t put him off his game, so what’s the point? If we still had that pair, we’d be playing CL football too. Finally, respect to your fans for clapping along during the 18th minute tribute to Justin Gladdis. You are forgiven, just about, for plundering half our squad (you thieving Scouse gits). Thought we deserved a point though.
Yeah if not for some poor finishing you may have got a point. Mane is right up there with the best now.
Mane just seems a really nice down to earth bloke Last year after big game he was back at local mosque helping to clean the toilets... clip recently of him giving his shirt to ball boy at super cup and giving him a nice hug. He even said after the game he was sorry he had to score v saints but he’s an lfc player now but still has huge respect for saints after they gave him chance in prem etc. Didfiuclt to have any bad words to say to say about him, especially when you add in that over last season and half he’s arguably been our best player.
We've given you lots of money - so you can go out and find some more players that we can buy off you in the future. Seems like a perfectly serviceable arrangement to me. You were unlucky to get nothing from a game that you dominated large parts of, and Mané's goal was against the run of play - but I doubt you'd have had the final flourish if it weren't for Adrián's Karius impression.
Sadio Mane is a professional footballer and he is behaving like one. When he got the ball before he scored Southamption fans were shouting "don't shoot...don't shoot".Well done for respecting his old club by not over celebrating.
Yeah, if we were going to get anything from the game, we should have punished you in the first half when you were off the pace a bit. Despite Adrian’s howler, I put Danny’s freak goal down to his persistence as well. I say it every week, pressure the defence (and keeper) and eventually you’ll force the error. Bet Danny Ings has as many nightmares as Adrian last night, thinking about the chance he missed just after his goal.
It was a bit of a shocker that one. Although not as easy, Firmino should have buried the chance he had just before he scored. I hope Ings does well for you in the long run, he gets himself into a lot of good positions so he should get his fair share even though he's not clinical. I'd hoped he'd do better for us, but the injury put paid to that and the chance was gone.
Didn't play well in any of our games so far this season yet still finding a way to win. Hopefully this continues until we find some real form
