Racing comes from Ayr, Newbury, Lingfield & Wolverhampton Not sure whether I can get on the site tomorrow so hope you dont mind me starting a thread : I have a couple of fancies for Ayr : 3.20 Courageous 8/1 (B365) Has only one win, but have backed him the last 2 times out. Last time he was a 2 length 3rd to Zero Money, held up and stayed on and I think he will go close. 3.55 Coolminc 18/1 (B365) Was a flop when favourite in this race last year and has not been a model of consistency lately, though it always interests me when the horse is entered again for the same race. Two races ago it made all over 7F at Newcastle but then flopped at York when ridden not from the front, drops back to 6F here and I reckon can grab at least a place. Cheers Trevez
Evening Trevez, It's crazy times at Ayr again, to the point where I might play the Euro Millions rather than back one in the Bronze Cup. But in all seriousness, my few penneth will be dabbled on ..... 3.55 AYR- CARA'S REQUEST 25/1 (B365) It's a race where let's face it- form goes out of the window. It is 6 furlongs of chaos and there will be two dozen hard luck stories. With that in mind, I wanted to select a prominent racer with a jockey who loves being at the front and who has shown he is difficult to pass in the past. It's the ideal trio for me here- A front-runner, ridden by Joe Fanning, trained by Dandy Nicholls. Will try and burn them off and steal the race. Strikes me as a bit of a touch, not in the strongest sense of the word, but bare this in mind: It drops down to 6f today quite randomly, having been running over a mile. It has been travelling well before fading late in those races, and as a result the handicap mark has dropped a lovely 2lb more and runs off 78, 2lb lower than when winning off 80 when last seen in the winners enclosure. And how about this for a good-to- soft and softer (i.e ranging from,good-to-soft, soft + heavy) ground record: 21730142180- 7 of his 11 runs on soft ground have yielded in-frame efforts. Well handicapped, Dodgy Dandy training, Joe Fanning to get a prominent position, and conditions to suit. That'll be where my quid is going on that race.
2.35 Newbury: NAZREEF 12/1 e.w- Won 5 from 5 on the AW and unsurpirisingly has a lower turf mark. That said, he has run one or two absolute blinders on turf, including when 5th of 25 behind Light From Mars earlier this summer. Potentially well treated off 83, having won off 91 on the AW. Steps back up to 10f, and remains interesting at these prices. 3.10 Newbury: DUBAI PRINCE 11/10 (NAP) Providing Godolphin have not ruined this fella, he is potentially a top notcher and still holds an entry on Champions Day (33/1 A.P for that). If trained on and wound up, he is too good for this field. 5.05 Ayr: POLKFULHAM 7/1- This looks a good opportunity to finally get back on the scoreboard. The champ booked and this horse has ran well in some competitve enough handicaps this season. He's up against lower grade winners here, and there are question marks over his biggest threats on paper. Not too big a field and you get the impression that Hanagan might be able to get him in the right position to strike in the final couple of furlongs. 6.00 Newbury: ALBERT BRIDGE 7/1 e.w- This bet may either look stupid or brilliant, depending. Albert Bridge is a really nicely bred type who is bred for a trip like this. He has only raced over a mile so far and has been awfully outpaced before finally being rousted home way too late in the day. He should be coming home strongly at some point- whether he makes it back in time for supper is another question. Hopefully won't be ridden too far off the pace- he needs his stamina taken full advantage of. I think a mark of 75 might just slightly underestimate him at this trip. Might eventually want even further, but possesses some stamina and ability, in amongst his 'character'!
Big message today for Scottish Lake at Ayr. I stayed at brecongill in the spring and this big horse was most backward but ran decent 1st time up. He's needed time and will deffo run a big race today. Positive tactics right up with the pace to be deployed by Patrick and his 3lb will assist also. Expect more money so advise get on early.
Fourteen thousand face the starter's gun in the Bronze Cup today, and heaps of 'em are from Dandie's horse house. As nepotism is big in racing, young Adrian gets the nod. Esprit de Midas managed to crack it last time out, against a small field of dromedaries in a two and a half thousand pound Claimer at Carlisle. This is a bit of a step up in class, But Dandy has plenty of shrapnel to throw at a race such as this, so he must think he has a chance. 12-1 looks like value to me. Ayr: 15:55 Espirit de Midas. EW. PS Morning all.
i asked willie not to text me any more but he sent this today "Listen Dano and listen well,Laganbank runs in the 2 mile novice hurdle. He was impressive when winning a maiden hurdle at Galway last time and that form gives him a realistic chance here. Our concern is how he will cope with the ground, particularly if we get more rain but thats just an excuse we use to fool the mugs who punt my horses every day, bit like you and oddy but stay loyal today big fella, i see my mate and yours Davy O has Kool Henry out at ayr, get it in a double with Lagan and enjoy the weekend, stay frosty as you say boyo" last chance saloon willie stay frosty
Top: I backed Alberts Bridge LTO but he was beaten before the off mate, take a look at his coat and the way he behaves at the start! He got extremely worked up before the race last time and never had a chance, agreed he ran on late but that was surely through tired horses. I'll be watching closely at the start to see if he behaves, if he does i back him, if he is unruly again the money stays in the pocket Danbo: In Corals at Darlington late this afternoon if you fancy a pint next door
would be nice mate but ive got bills to pay and boats to catch so cant hang about, next time maybe mate, defo on for the charlie hall and your in for a big surprise, get wayward there as well tickets on me who is willie please stop taking that speed your given to court, its the mighty mullins, he loves the not 606 boys
Bronze Cup: One high and one low as we do not know the draw yet so: Mon Brav looks best of the high especially with the Norths best jockey on, 20s looks a fair EW price. Ursula has bits and pieces of decent form and maybe the 1st time cheek pieces could get some extra out of her! 33s looks a cracking EW price Be lucky all who play
Waywards under the thumb mate, he wont be allowed out on a Saturday There are others on here who attend, if you have another spare my mate will come too
The North has two of the top three jocks at the moment and Mr Makin certainly isn't one of them! Just stop thinking about it and get on Layla's Hero
Raging hangover today. Good night out yesterday so it's worth it. Anyone know if it's been raining at Ayr overnight?
1 Trail Blaze (10) 2.10 Ayr 3 Places To Run 2 Chooseday (3) 2.45 Ayr 3 Places To Run 3 Oldjoesaid (8) 3.20 Ayr 4 Places To Run 4 Cara's Request (25) 3.55 Ayr 4 Places To Run 5 Caledonia Lady (8) 4.30 Ayr 3 Places To Run 6 Pokfulham (8) 5.05 Ayr 3 Places To Run That's the little placepot, might as well have a dabble at small stakes as the payout is likely to be decent.
Gaz, that looks a follow the money race, a few are so unexposed that they could easily pick this race up. I wonder whether the value is the Carroll horse though
Nass: 160 days off would be enough for me to leave alone! I'll be watching Albert Bridge for future races but like tha look of Foxhaven as course form stands up at Newbury mate
