If I'm honest, Man City will walk it this year. I see them hitting 95+ points again. No way liverpool will match them like last season. Spurs could be close to liverpool, with City out ahead. The media have decided it's a 2 horse race so I'm just rolling with it.
I think a lot depends on whether Spurs keep Eriksen. If he goes, they basically lose their creative engine.
At this stage of the season I wouldn't rule out any of the usual top 6. I actually think if Man Utd get off to a good start they could challenge and think Spurs will also be right up there. Agree that City are favourites but actually think Liverpool could struggle - they didn't address the lack of squad depth and a more injury-affected season could cause them problems.
I don't see Utd doing much this season tbh. I know they had that big win against Chelsea, but that was more to do with the Chavs folding like a sack of **** really. The media have had a collective jizz fest over that result, but I don't think it's an indication of how those two teams will fair this season. As for the others, you'd have to say City and Liverpool will go toe to toe again for 1st & 2nd. Spurs, I think a lot depends on whether they keep Eriksen but they should get top 4. As for 4th, I think that's between Arsenal, Chelsea and Utd.
It’s too early to call imo. I think losing Kompany will impact City at some point, his leadership and defensive nous hasn’t been replaced, and whilst Laporte is top notch, none of their other CB’s are of Kompanys level, or even close. Liverpool should have added some depth and probably a top notch first teamer, I don’t understand their inactivity in the window, plain odd. Spurs have added some quality and depth, and provided Eriksen and the others stay beyond the close of the window, they’ll be stronger than last season. United have plugged a gaping chasm in their backline with Slab head, but have failed to replace Lukaku’s goals. Arsenal will be better when they hit their stride imo and Chelsea will drop off a bit, due to losing Hazard and not having a top draw central striker.
They're still a **** load better than Arsenal, Chelsea and Utd though. Eriksen may be the difference as to whether a title challenge happens but even without him their comfortably top 3 imo.
Nope, Eriksen is the difference between them finishing top 4 or not. They are significantly weaker without him as he's the heartbeat of that team. Also a lot depends on the futures of Alderwierled and Vertonghen. If they can keep all three of those players this season, they'll comfortably finish in the top 4 (although they'll probs then lose them all on a free)
It's all a tad embarrassing if I'm honest. Would have much preferred it if we'd just moved on and got on with it.
