I'm bringing the whole family to this one so naturally it'll be a ****ing disaster. I'll have to double down on booing Jamie redknapp to make myself feel better. Probably sing about pompey as well for good measure.
Gunn; Valery, Bednerak, Danso, Bertrand; Romeu; JWP, Pierre; Adams, Long, Redmond. McCarthy, Cedric, Stephens, Slattery, Boufal, Ings, Obafemi
Looking forward to the game, we will be on a high after looking at the league table on 19 January and seeing Liverpool 7pts clear and then looking at the table again after 38 games and will give you a game. Be prepared.
I actually quite like that lineup. I think of the subs, I can see Ings, Obafemi or Armstrong ( who looked very good against Köhn) all playing a part at some stage as other players tire.
They've still got an excellent defence though and we've still got to get the shots in. I expect this now just means that although we'll get thrashed, we might score... ...not that I'm pessimistic about our chances or anything
This is going to be the best chance we have to get points against Liverpool but it will still be bloody tough. Dodgy keeper in goal - anyone fancy a couple of quid on JWP to score a free kick?
Ryan came close though, I thought it was in. Bit close really, Prowsey wasn't gonna get away with taking it back again.
They should all just be left to prowsey imo. He's proven he can do it now on the big stage, multiple times. Has RB ever scored a free kick?
A previous manager (Poch?) told James to insist on taking penalties/free kicks when he was designated to do so...and not to be bullied off it.
Looks like he will play to me....... “I really don’t understand it why, in the world of social media where you are all on it, when we were all together a supporter jumped over something, was chased by some security guys, slipped and kicked [Adrian’s] ankle. Crazy. “Yesterday it was swollen. Today I spoke to him and he said it is better, much better than yesterday, but we have to see. “Apart from that, yes, it was a brilliant night for him, for sure – not only because of the penalty [save], but especially because of the game. I think he saved the penalty and was in the mood he was in during the penalty shootout because of the game he’d played before. “So, that was all good, but now we have to see.” Klopp added: “He will not go for a scan. We wait for the swelling to go down. It went down already. You can imagine, you have that and then you fly four hours back and that doesn’t help swelling. “He could not have played directly after we landed in Liverpool, but I saw him now, he is OK and it looks better, but the decision will be made tomorrow – there is no chance to make it early.”
