Swansea City v Preston North End Competition - Sky Bet Championship Venue - Liberty Stadium Date - 17 August 2019 Kick off - 3pm Following their 3-1 comeback victory over Northampton in the League Cup, next up for Steve Cooper’s Swansea squad is a return to League duty with a home match against Preston. Against the Cobblers, Andre Ayew came off the bench to lead the fight back and scored twice to take the Swans into the next round - his first Swansea goals in 3 years. The question is, will Cooper select him for League matches. On paper, his ability and experience should mean that he’s in the side if fit - the question is, will his presence disrupt the balance of the team? Personally, I think that he will be in the squad - possibly coming off the bench. Preston lost their first League game 1-0 at Millwall but bounced back by thumping Wigan 3-0 at Deepdale. Turning to Saturday, I think that the Swans will maintain their unbeaten start and will win 2-0
Ayew for Peterson last night seemed a strange decision albeit one that worked but if he starts where will it be ? he plays like a strikers but his position last night was as a left sided winger , Personally I'd have him as a sub ,I'm sure that Cooper knows he's off as soon as the Club can sell him so why take up a position which should be used by a player who is in his long term plans
I agree I think Ayew will be on the bench on Saturday. Preston are in free scoring mode with 7 in their last two games, so fully expect them to score. So I am going for another 2-1 home win and 7 points from 9.
I haven't predicted a win yet, and we have done ok so going to continue, going for another 2-2, Baston and Ayew to score. Hoping really for 3 points and my points prediction for August already out the window.
Guaranteed then I am saving my injection of bad luck by going to the QPR game - surely it can’t be as bad as last season!
At the end of the day it is just a game and anyone can beat anyone on the day. It is all down to who is better prepared and has lady luck on their side. I'm still going for a guess of 3 - 1 home win though...
