Fair play to the aussies but England started well and just deteriorated slowly from there. All in all, a pretty abject display by England
So many people were critical of Cook and Trott as being slow players but they were proper Test batsmen who could grind out an innings when the chips were down enabling the strokemakers to reap the benefit. Now we have no top quality batsmen in the top three places and shoving Root up to No.3 doesn't solve the problem. We also have too many players who can bat a bit and bowl a bit instead of specialists in one or other, the one day game may be a crowd pleaser but it is in danger of destroying the proper game as too many players can't handle the discipline of Test cricket. It's a shame because at it's best Test cricket is an art-form in itself...
England are the best limited overs side in the world and too many of that side play in the test team because there's no one better. Cook was an absolute legend.
Well, thanks for that one. I was expecting a draw but I've just woken up to an Australian Victory. I suppose good 5 a side football players don't always make the first team squad.
Time for a bump....... After yesterday's wash out the Aussies win toss and will bowl .........lets hope it's a decision like Nassar Hussain in Brisbane
Maybe it was a good decision to bowl after all.......Hazelwood making the ball dance all over the place.......England need to dig in and hope they don't edge these deliveries......
England had to win the toss and bowl. No chance of winning this having not won the toss. Wash out tomorrow hopefully.
