The workrate in the first half was very, very impressive. There was no way they could keep that pace up for 90 mins. Tranmere improved in the second half and have a couple of decent larkers. Blackstock ? in particular. Milokovic was good for City too until he tired and was taken off on the hour mark. Overall a comfortable away victory and evidence that we DO have strength in depth.
It’s a simple game really. Get the ball and get up to their end and stick the ball between the white sticks. Do that more than them and we win. Could be Clough or Shankley, not sure which. Looks like Terrys philosophy too.
3-0 at half-time, most good teams naturally slow down and just see the game out. It's good because that in itself represents a different test and experience. Maybe a shame that Eaves didn't get off the mark though.
Some larkers trying to impress tonight (and why not?) Did TRFC just want to prioritise the League? I fancy us to go on a League Cup run just like we did under Phelo when we took 1,000 to Old Trafford for the semi final in Jan 2017 under Mark O'Silver.
I'm not usually a betting man, but can anyone tell me what the odds are on City - (a) getting promoted; (b) reaching the play-offs; (c) getting anywhere in either Cup? Or point me in the direction where I can find out? A link? You can PM me, maybe, cos I'll be able to find it later.
