As i said, if a band steals music, i wont respect them, if a band i don't like does their own thing and has talent, i will respect them. I don't like Motley Crue or GNR but i respect their music. At the end of the day originality and talent is a stupid thing to argue about. I could far into a mike, and mix it in an auto tuner to make a song out of it and call it original. Lets just go back on topic lads.

Well that's if you determine talent to be playing guitar and drums ridiculously fast. Having seen Coldplay live, I would say they're a pretty talented group of guys. They've ripped off plenty, but still have some pretty iconic songs that are all their own doing. To be completely original all the time is pretty difficult, you have to look no further than say the film industry to see that rehashing old ideas is widely accepted. Of the top 10 grossing films this year, only one was an original story (Rio), all the others were sequels or remakes of books/cartoons etc.
A rather narrow minded view in my opinion, some people have to 'learn' to use their voice just as people do to play an instrument. And if the 'it's there naturally' argument falls into play, the same can be applied to the ability to play an instrument; dexterity etc. You can only develop the tools that you are given.
I also believe that a band should test themselves when making music and use their instruments. Coldplay don't do a lot with their instruments at all. Viva La Vida has the same drum beat all the way through, just a kick pedal at the same tempo.
No kidding? On topic though I can't give an answer simply because it is impossible to whittle down to 10.
Did i say Coldplay lacked talent? I didn't. The singer has a good voice, and the guitars can play their instruments to an extent. They do what they do quite well, but i don't respect them for ripping other peoples music off.
A good song doesn't mean including the most mentally stupid guitar solo you can do and how fast you can do it and how many notes above the 15th fret you can play and how fast you can drum and how loud you can scream. Although I hate Coldplay myself, it's naive to say that just because they don't play the best guitar riffs they can possibly play in their songs, it doesn't mean that they can't play that well. Not a fan of heavy rock or metal, to be honest. Gifted guitarists, perhaps. Good songs? Not for me, ta.
I love The Answer so here are a few of their songs. Enjoy. http://youtu.be/JL3gIO624X8 http://youtu.be/iYHbGEZjBk8 http://youtu.be/8lh-GH8kJZg http://youtu.be/po_qSQgqu5w

The comment "They have more talent than Coldplay in their arse cheeks" implied that's what you thought.
ffs why do you assume that i think this way? I never said talent is all about playing super technical riffs at 100 miles an hour and the drummer being able to play the ****ing drums 90 miles an our with his cock and one ball!!!! One of my favourite songs is Fade to Black by Metallica, it's not technical or fast, but it has a lot of feeling, emotion and though put into it. It's imaginative. Coldplay don't seem to have much of a feeling to their music, even though i think they did a good job with the song "in my place", which i can fall asleep to because it's relaxing and soothing, most of their songs don't really make me feel like they've really tested themselves as artists. Just saying.
To be fair Coldplay must be doing something right if they headline the biggest festivals in the world and have millons of fans worldwide! Tash I have to say Viva la diva is my least favourite coldplay song, so we can agree on that!
this tried with mine and as soon as i finished thought **** forgot those and them would have been easier to list them all
Yep I'm pretty odd with my music, today I had on Dolly Parton, Anthrax, Dusty Springfield and deicide among others... I dunno.
