Mine was the 1977 FA Cup final Lost 2-1 to the Manc twats who scored the flukiest goal i have ever had the misfortune to witness since greenhoffs shot was sliced so badly it would have ended up near the corner flag apart from the fact it hit another manc twat an looped into the net. Knew for certain it wasn't to be when Ray Kennedy smacked one against base of the post late on. On the plus side the following Wednesday i did get to watch on telly my favourite ever game as we won our first EC but those bitter memories of Saturday are still there.
You were talking about all ****ing seasons mate. Spurs and Coventry didn't kick off late, the 1977 match with Coventry did. I was at ****ing Wimbledon that day, as you were..
The one where the late kick-off was irrelevant, as you had to lose and they had to win? You also went 1-0 down in the 85th minute and they were already winning. We lost 2-1 and all of the goals were in the first half. https://www.skysports.com/football/tottenham-vs-coventry/277342 Paul McVeigh scored and he's one of the worst strikers we've ever had!
That was horrible. I had a blistering hangover that day, and went to watch it on my own in a pub in London. I dropped a pint on my feet when they scored their fourth.
Spurs v Arsenal 1971. If Arsenal won or drew 0-0 they won the league. If they lost or it was a score draw then they finished second. Back then there was no internet or TV coverage so the only way to find out the score was by updates on the radio. It was 0-0 until the last minute. Then the radio announcer said the situation had dramatically changed. That could only mean Spurs had scored (because 1-0 to Arsenal gave the same outcome as 0-0) so I was delighted. But it turned out that Arsenal had scored. They went on to win the double too.
May 21, 1977. FA Cup Final. Massively deflected shot off Jimmy Greenhof into our net. Scored against the run of play and ****ing won, effectively robbing us of the first ever treble. ****ing ****s
Losing to Stockport County in the QF of EFL cup was bit gutting, though not as bad as beating Villa in it a few years later, then having to play it again because of Omoyimni being cup-tied, and losing. ****ing Gillingham. ****s. @brb
