The proposal is to axe one of the current current races to make way for it. I am not sure of the logic behind this but they obviously want to stick to 4 days and 7 races per day. Close Bros Novice Handicap most likely to get the chop.

I think the Friday is the worst day by a mile, I wouldn't miss either the County Hurdle, Martin Pipe or Grand Annual to be honest. I guess they could make the Grand Annual "mares only" ......

Get rid of the Boys race - they ride in most races anyway, and eddies point of getting rid of the 4miler is a good point plus the fact it’s usually one of 4 jockeys that win it anyway!!

Interesting runner in this race for me is QUARRYSTREETMAGIC 100/1. Three runs at Windsor to get a mark and showed plenty of pace before being beaten a long way on each run. Runs from 9lb wrong but that is hardly surprising as the handicapper has rated him at 38. The dam was decent and they paid 20k for this fellow. Robbie Walsh takes off a handy 7lbs off. Cheekpieces applied so could well be that the shrewd Mr Meehan has successfully plotted this one up for a long price EW tipple. We shall see.
