Yeah they look to have some quality between Heaton, Mings, McGinn and Grealish. They’re missing Abraham from last season up top but if they can get a tune from their new lad, who certainly gave Dave a tricky time once or twice yesterday, then that’s a spine that could really work for them, if Villa can keep them all fit.
I posted a link in another thread yesterday where Poch has said he wants to win a trophy this season. Edit- here’s the link to the article - https://www.skysports.com/share/11781623
Winks reminds me of a young Roy Keane but without the attitude. Maybe this is a side that he needs to develop?
The information I like better is that Ndombele tied his league goal total from last year yesterday. A commentator made a useful comment while I was watching, for f*cking once: if a very good passer struggles to shoot, tell him to pass the ball into the net--and that Pochettino might tell Ndombele that.
NDombele showed in pre-season that he has a good on-target shot from range. His reaction to the goal IMHO suggested that it was no surprise for him that the shot went in.

Completely agree ... I think that winks has become a bit of a punch bag when the team does not do too well and a lot of the good things he does is completely ignored.
I had to watch the match with an Arabic commentary on Bein. They were so excited by his recovery tackle and dummy that he sold to the Villa player that they showed it six times.
https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11661/11783719/ref-watch-vars-amazing-premier-league-debut Dermot Gallagher discusses the VAR decisions from the weekend and mentions none of the three in our game. I've yet to see two of them, the penalty for them and the red card, but the handball was clearly wrong. No replays on MOTD, either. Were the other two correct? I wasn't even sure who the red was supposed to be for.
I didn't think that he'd come out after the break, as he was clearly hobbling around for a bit after that. Perfectly timed and it had to be. He'd have been in real trouble if he'd have got that wrong.
I watched them all in slow motion. The penalty wasn't clear cut. I don't think it would have been overturned if given. The red card was for a potential stamp which didn't happen. I wouldn't have given the handball either as his hand wasn't outside his body shape.
