I think the lower leagues are more enjoyable and much more genuine. Plus a genuine chance to win a league rather than making up the numbers in a top heavy league driven purely and motivated purely by money.
Oh yeah, I’d forgotten about the refs; fat, unfit, and 2 minutes behind the play. Still better than VAR though
I would have been fuming if their goal in the first half was onside as our players stopped when the lino put his flag up.
The ref yesterday was one of the higher rated and it showed. The linesmen were both terrified of making any sort of decision including throw-ins, which just led to the defending team getting any decision that someone watching their first football match couldn’t have got to.
Or alternatively, if you think the ref's wrong then you may as well ignore the whistle cos if you stick it in then you can get it reviewed. I think the whistle had gone way before they put it in as well tbf.
You know my feelings on VAR. If the ref has blown then the game is dead, I assume. Goal wouldn’t/couldn’t stand in that case.
That was my thought as well. I'm not checking as I have no intention of ever watching the 'highlights' but I'm about 90% sure that the ref blew before they squared it but it still came up on the screen.
The only job he’d take is Real. I can see Zidane having a **** season and getting sacked, and the Real/media tapping-up machine going into overdrive to get Poch. And I don’t think us having a good season will prevent him leaving. Quite the opposite, in fact. Bizarrely, he seems to want to quit if he wins something! I hope I’m wrong, and he’s here for the duration. We’re where we are because of him, as I am sure Levy and Lewis know.
You’ll be alright, just ‘one of those days’ that one. Looked an even game until that 12 minute spell, and the much underrated Barnes took his chances very well. Jut a real ****ter that you made the trip mate, but that’s football.
Yeah. Never understood why players get booked for that. It's like the emotional aspect of the game is being sucked out. Prem is so sterile these days.
We can’t have random fans not clad in official Premier League merchandise seen to be part of the match.
Spot on mate, it was a very even, albeit poor, match up until the first goal and as I mentioned we had actually started the second half quite brightly too. Not the first time we've come unstuck in **** conditions oop north and won't be the last I'm sure.
It was actually remarkably similar to Ralph's first match at Cardiff @Archers Road **** game. Worse conditions. Vestergaard mistake. Except we collapsed afterwards and Burnley are better than Cardiff.
