From the club site. http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/latest-news/agger-we-re-miles-apart Hopefully Agger can stay fit he's a top player and seems loyal to the club. Daniel Agger believes Kenny Dalglish and his coaching staff have instilled a belief in the Liverpool squad that is 'miles apart' from last season. The Dane, who has started all four of the Reds' Barclays Premier League matches so far this term, has revealed there is a genuine confidence amongst the squad that they can achieve their aims. Explaining the reasons for an increased conviction amongst the players, Agger told Liverpoolfc.tv: "I think it's a bit of everything, but obviously the coaching staff are helping. "If you look at the squad now, it looks really, really strong with so many good players, so I think it is good for us to have the belief to go forward and win games. "We definitely have that now and if you compare it to last season, I think we're miles apart." Liverpool return to action this Sunday when they travel to White Hart Lane to take on Tottenham Hotspur. For Spurs, the contest will represent a first home match since being beaten 5-1 on their own turf by Manchester City last month and Agger believes Harry Redknapp's side will be out to prove a point. He said: "It was a completely different game and they'll want to show it was a one off. It is going to be tough no matter what. "There are not many easy games in the Premier League anymore, and Tottenham are definitely a tough one away. But I think we have a good team now and we're ready to compete." Meanwhile, Agger has spoken of his pride at being named as captain of the Danish national team for the recently Euro 2012 qualifier with Norway. "It's a big thing for me," he said. "I always said it's an honour to pull on the jerseys - both the red of Liverpool and the red of Denmark - but to put on the armband is one of the biggest things you can achieve as a footballer for Denmark. "Not many players achieve that, so it's big, big thing."
this is his 5th game of the season in the league for us so thats a big step. we're all wondering if he can be fit. Many of his injuries have been impact related which is i suppose ok but his back is an issue and we know CBs who get that issue are pestered by it. Lets see how he does.
I love Agger. He's just brilliant to watch, everything he does on the football pitch is top notch. What a player, if he can have a season clear of injuries then we'd already have one foot in the top 4, that's how good he is and how highly I rate him.
Absolutely class centre back. If he wasn't made of glass he'd be held in the same regard as the Vidic's and Terry's of the world.
I think hes the 2nd best CB in the prem after Vidic, better than the likes of Terry and Ferdinand, who are past it Just needs to stay fit
He's a class act and one of my favourite players. I would love him to stay fit, when he's fit, there is very few better in the whole of Europe. He and Vidic are the opposite type of centre back. Dan Agger is in the Terry and Ferdinand mould, However Agger is better than both were in their prime. Ferdinand is a poor mans Alan Hansen and always was.
agger is not a dominant cb, he's a quality ball player so for me pairing him with coates for his height is a must.... that could be class for us....
I reckon that could be our eventual partnership. I reckon our eventual centre-backs are going to be Coates, Skrtel, Agger and Wisdom.
i'd agree that from what i've seen wilson is not going to make that level. he's got to make a big step up. i think kelly on the other hand has a lot to offer and will push skertl out of that 4. wisdom reminds me of micah richards but i think he's also not proved anything yet... not like kelly.
Agger class player but made out of glass.Shame really because when he is fit he's brilliant He has had a good run during the pre season and now he has 5 games under his belt hopefully he can stay injury free I agree with the above that Wilson looks like he won't make the grade unless he steps up his game (can't see it happening) I thought that Widom had a good game the other night against Wolfsburg,he read the game well and looked relaxed on the ball. He's got what it takes to make the next step up No need to say anything more about Kelly except that he is CLASS
