GH played pretty well in the two friendlies and of course he'll have his work cut out dealing with the Liverpool fire-power, but we just have to accept that, as we have to accept it - and the result!!!!
Touch of insomnia tonight (today), so watched this in full for the first time. This guy is unbelievable, not sure where he came from (well, Germany, obviously), but he'll do for me. A truly impressive press conference, we got lucky when he came to our club (in my very humble opinion). Though it may come back and bite me, this is the most confident I've felt in many attempts at having a good crack at the premier league. (Any typos, please blame the French wine industry).
Agreed gandy and it seems the majority Canaries fans would agree with you!! We certainly did get lucky when he took the helm at CR, yet a metre 10 months or MANY fans were calling for him to go. IF we get to the end of September with only a handful of points on the board, WILL some fans be sharpening their knives again - I SINCERELY hope not. I'd be delighted if we can score even 1 goal tonight - Liverpool ONLY covered 22 goals last season!!! Edit - the guest on the 'Breakfast Briefing' was sporting a green and yellow hanky in his top pocket this morning!!!! PS - This from PD's article this morning - 'The passage of time might dim the recollections but there feels a healthy realism inside and outside the club this time around. No false promises have been made during the past summer regarding lofty ambitions, ground expansions or transfer outlays.' https://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwi...-davitt-premier-league-scene-setter-1-6206728
GAME DAY!!!!! Whatever happens at Anfield tonight, i'm extremely excited about this team and genuinely feel we're better set up than any previous PL campaign. Excellent chance we'll get our backsides smacked by Liverpool but i'm also confident we'll give a good showing of ourselves. Can't wait to see what this team can achieve. OTBC!
I think I'm right in that you're strength is in your wingers and full backs? Should be a good game and surprisingly open.
It's not often a Liverpool Norwich game results in nil nil. Don't expect us to try and 'park the bus' it isn't in Farke's DNA.
I agree, I can see you looking to attack down our left a lot, it will leave Salah with a one on one though so I hope he's got his shooting boots on.
Woke up and 3am this morning. Recon I was worrying about tonight! I am feeling tense about tonight. I know it's a free hit, I know it's so cool to be here, and none of us expected it. I just feel a bit worried, opening game, the world watching. If we get spanked, I hope the fans, the players, and the staff don't lose last Season euphoric atmosphere and togetherness. It shouldn't happen after 1 game.
I think we're all nervous about tonight and what might happen. Anfield can be a daunting venue, especially as it's their first chance to celebrate being European champions, but we have a good mixture of experienced internationals and young guns who know no fear. I'm convinced that we'll hold our own and show why we came up as champions. That's all I ask.
My thoughts exactly FML and my hope is that most fans will give DF and his squad a bit of leeway, though as Gary said on MFW this morning, he was dismayed by some of the social media comments following our defeat by Atlanta and the fact that our CBs for tomorrow are Hanley and Godfrey!! http://norwichcity.myfootballwriter...t-the-ready-and-lets-give-it-a-right-good-go/
DDF hoping that tonight's game isn't spoilt by the user of VAR, but with Michael Oliver's obvious LOVEfor NCFC, I'm not optimistic!!! https://www.edp24.co.uk/features/david-freezer-var-column-liverpool-norwich-1-6206598
It's amazing how people attach importance to that result when we brought 6 new players on after 60 minutes and just before their last two goals. You might as well say we're going to storm the PL because we beat Luton 5-1.
