Company car you are going to be wanting to change it at least every 80k. If you do 40-60k a year, within 18months to 2 years it's fooked. If it's alot lower than that, then an allowance is ok. So if you do 20k a year fine, because that gives you 3-4 years out of it.
Yeah some really great cities I’d be visiting as well, but time away from home could be a killer. Huge company though, so loads of perks.
Could be an option for a couple of years and make some big dough, then ease off and do something a bit closer to home. It's tough for everybody when you've got very young children though. Part of the reason I ditched my NHS job was because of my little one. It was a good salary, nothing astronomical but still a £40k+ job, so decent wedge. But I was working 60+ hr weeks and not getting home until 9pm most nights, then at the weekend I was just ****ed and wanted to sleep.
Not sure how old you are mate, but it sounds like you’d be spending plenty of time away from the family. Working all over and living out of a suitcase soon loses its appeal.
We had an earthquake in Cornwall today Didn't feel a thing https://www.itv.com/news/westcountry/2019-08-08/earthquake-in-west-cornwall/
Yeah it’s not that bad but my current role has practically no travel at all. I’d say excluding the odd trip to London/Surrey most of my work is in a 40 mile radius.
Been there. Done it. Sounds exciting to begin with, but soon loses it’s appeal - especially if you have a family. Yeah, you get to stay in top hotels, eat at top restaurants etc, but you’re working and you can never forget that. This ain’t a pleasure cruise - it’s work. I’ve been to Tokyo 5-6 times and still seen next to **** all, apart from what I see from the back of a cab. Yes, you go to all these different cities but you don’t get to be a tourist and do the big tour, you’re working.
It was a classic middle management job. I'd been there years so I was at the top of my payscale. It wasn't anything too glamorous tbh. I spent most of my time dealing with the ball ache managing teams, buildings and services and trying to squeeze more and more out of less money year on year. Towards the end I ****ing hated it.
stupid thing is, i was earning not far of that back in the 90s, at the warehouse in weybridge,, ok we ran on a bous scheme and me being **** hot was a top earner mind what i waspaying rent crippled me, but that's where i started my venture and bought my first houses... So everything is relevant.
piskie carries a hessian sack..... that way is there is nothing he fancies instore he can just abduct someone
I used to manage teams in London and New York. I'd go to NYC about 8 times a year. Fly out Sunday evening, fly back overnight on Thursday to be back in the London office on Friday morning. It was fun the first time. I hated it after that.
