In the end after my negativity earlier in the week I have to be happy that we got the 2 deals over the line.

I also expect Eriksen to leave, but I am hoping that the change of shape to 4-3-3 will negate that loss as I am not sure that he fits in as well as the players that have arrived.

    Taking a guess at what I think Pochs first choice XI will be if everyone is fit;

    Lloris
    Foyth, Sanchez, Vertonghen, Davies
    Lo Celso Winks, Ndombele
    Alli, Kane, Son

Compared to Sat which I think will be
    Lloris
    KWP, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Rose
    Winks
    Sissoko Ndombele
    Lamela
    Lucas, Kane

Yep. It'll either be in the next couple of weeks or next summer.

If he has any sense, he'll play like his life depended on it for all of August

Don't hold your breath. He'll play to stay fit and injury free.

I think Poch will pick him and I am not sure who else there is to play the deepest role in the 3? His job will be to win the ball and bring his new colleagues into the game

I got no problem with Winks as a squad player but I won't deny I'll be pissed if he's constantly in the XI. He slows our play down, I don't think he's strong enough defensively to play a DM role, nor is he creative enough to play a playmaker role, as harsh as it sounds he really doesn't offer that much other than ball retention - which for me is only ideal when looking to hold onto a slim lead with 10-15 minutes to go.

If we do go 433, I think the best option is a fully fit Dier as he can anchor perfectly for the other two but I also think Sissoko could work as he's shown he has the physicality to be more defensive whilst he enjoys a strong run through the middle.

yeah i know but didn't expect to be in profit .
I expected some cover for FB to be purchased and in an ideal world cover for front 3 .
Our squad excluding MF & CB is pretty thin imo .
Now know how you lot felt last summer <laugh>

In hindsight, only the effective season loss of Dembele
made the PL season final third run in such torture (to
think Spurs will still only 6 pts off the top at that stage) .

Even the Kane outages were dealt with comfortably.

    N'Dombele
    Sessegnon
    Lo Celso

I'll take that considering Eriksen is still here but I'm not sure if his heart is.

    It's a shame we couldn't land Dybala

At least Levy has shown Poch some faith

I really wanna warm to the guy. He’s such a likeable bloke but whenever I watch him play I just wanna rub hot coals in my eyes. Find his style of play so damn painful. Side pass, side pass, side pass, five yard pass forward, side pass, side pass, back pass... as I’ve said a few times, I think he’s perfect for bringing on with 10 or so minutes to go to help retain a small lead but from a starting perspective? It’s a no from me.
