Agreed. Spurs will be dissapointed they didn't get Coutinho though, in fact both will. Arsenal have done well. Surprised nobody has got Saha yet. Arsenal type of player.
Not wise ****ing people over to help others tbh. PSG are more likely to be of use to you in the future than Betis, so to save you 1.5 mil (possibly) not sure it's that wise. Is Lol Celso any good?
Funny how everybody was wumming us at the beginning of the window for being skint, saying we couldn't afford anybody And we've bought: Pepe £72m Saliba £28m Tierney £25m Luiz £8m Martinelli £8m Ceballos Loan We cleared out loads of deadwood and we rinsed Everton for £40m for Iwobi Don Raul (aka Danny De Vito) is a ****ing G in the transfer market.
Fairly happy overall. What’s good to see was that Poch has obviously given Levy his list of targets and Levy has gone and got them. No cheap substitutes for a change. Dybala would have been the icing - a genuinely world class player, but it was always gonna be tough to get that one done.
You need to win something this season, big pressure. Isn't a bad thing. Spurs too, no more excuses from them - they have to win something now imo.
Luiz has got bags of PL experience so I'm not worried about him. Tierney I think will be used to 'British' football and playing for Celtic he'll know about the rivalries etc, but the PL is a big step up. Pepe is going to need a bit of time to adapt, but I think he's the perfect type of player for us, in the Henry mould, a quick and tricky goal scoring wide player. I think he'll be a big star at Arsenal. But yeah Utd and Liverpool. Utd needed LOADS of work on their squad, they've strengthened at CB, but £80m on Maguire is ****ing eye watering. I suppose they've recouped most of that from selling Lukaku. But they still look like they need major surgery through that squad. Plus they've still got Sanchez on £500k per week Liverpool, I would have thought they'd signed at least one top drawer player to try and push City next season. They probably have the cash and the pull to do it. Personally I thought they were going to sign Pepe. ****ing chufffed to bits we've got him instead.
If we get this CB over the line it's been a decent window, needed a CB a couple of attacking players and more importantly some gone which hopefully we can add to before the European window Spurs.
That will be the target set for Emery this season though. We're a work in progress, and the aim will be to get this team back into the Champions League as a priority.
Yeah I'm pretty happy with our business. Our three first choice targets were Ndombele, Lo Celso and Sessegnon and whilst we had to wait a while for the latter two, we got our primary targets over the line. Dybala would've been a massive statement but it seems it like was Juve that pulled the plug more-so than Spurs failing to get him. I'd have liked a new senior RB as Trippier left and Aurier is **** (and may leave too) but a lot of Spurs fans have been wanting Walker-Peters to get a proper chance and so he'll probably have up until January to show if he can make the spot his own or not, looks great going forward but definitely needs work defensively. Solid 7.5/10 window for me. Stark contrast from last year's shambles.
Depends if eriksen leaves. If he does i would say its been average. Obviously ndombele is a good addition but lo celso for eriksen weakens them and trippier has also been sold for 2 unknown newbies + aurier.
The Lukaku fee is ridiculous, but is trumped by the fact an Italian club was willing to spend that much. I bet its £1 a week installments with £10m knocked off the price for every kg he puts on
£28 for that mule. A player I’ve never rated. Apparently Silva sees him as more of attacking mid than a wide forward. I see him as ****ing ****e. Well done to Palace for keeping a player who’s now royally ****ed off and will sulk like **** for months.
Zaha mistakenly signed a contract last summer and one with no buy out clause. His value may drop a little due to them eventually wanting rid, but he will still be worth a lot.
I see Dan James as a decent squad addition, the other two should improve us massively. Wan Bissaka is the best tackler in Europe, going from Ashley Young to him is a staggering improvement and the same can be said for Jones and Maguire, unless Maguire starts firing own goals in at ten to the dozen. Lukaku is gone, he was utter dogshit. That can only be a good thing. We were never going to do it all in one window with ***** Ed driving the deals.
