Looked to me like Sarri was trying to force him out, for whatever reason. He clearly didn’t want to go, but what’s happened now is anybody’s guess. Senior directors have forced a truce? Now this!.... https://www.spurs-web.com/spurs-new...-and-tottenham/amp/?__twitter_impression=true Who knows? Que sera and all that...
He ain’t though. The deal suits us fine. He’s an upgrade on Kos who we got £5m for, so for £3m we replace him with a better CB with just as much experience as a stop gap until Saliba comes in next year.

The sale of Luiz might also be Lampard placating Zouma on not selling him to Everton coz he rates him and intends to give him his opportunity
I always find it funny how everyone says that X player will be a liability, like they haven't seen us trying to defend over the years. We KNOW what bad defending looks like. We've shipped, 8, 6 and 5 and 4 goals in various games over the years repeatedly. It's not like it could get any worse.
Except he is. As a centre half, he is. Scores an occasional nice free kick though so you're obviously good to go.
I know mate. We’ve been specialists in liability defending for the last 4-5 years. The future of our CB pairing is Holding / Saliba, but Sokratis / Luiz is a decent pairing for the next year. Sokriatis is a bit of a battering ram and Luiz is a ball playing CB. They should pair up well
