In a deal that involved him and Lukaku switching clubs. It’s only been about 2-3 days that Juve are now seemingly willing to just purely sell Dybala in order to possibly pursue Lukaku or another target. 2-3 days to sign someone of this magnitude in a massively complex deal is something even Madrid would struggle with, let alone Spurs.
Don’t you think we should just pay it if he is what we need to elevate ourselves? It’s not some kind of moral stance it’s pathetic for a top 4 PL club with the money coming in. Dybala would change the landscape big time for us...£12 million stands between that...bollox If that’s the stumbling block
Possibly...if Lukaku goes to Inter. Either way it's a race against time. Juve have accepted our bid. If we can agree terms with the player before another option becomes a possibility, he's a Yiddo.
I think if we miss out on Dybala there’s a possibility we’ll sign Fernandes. Different style of players but they add goals to this team and it seems like we’re still keeping in contact with Fernandes/ Sporting. If we do sign Sess, GLC and one of Dybala/ Fernandes, I’d consider it a great window for the club.
I did say "supposedly". It is just as likely that his agent is telling him to hold out for higher wages elsewhere (replacement for Neymar at PSG for example).
He's not coming. He doesn't want to. His wage demands are too high, his agent wants a ridiculous fee plus the image rights. All this according to the sensible Italian papers, not Gazzetta dello Sport.
In theory I'd like that but in reality I'd agree with Spurlock in this scenario. Sporting supposedly want exactly what we bid for Dybala. If the image rights thing really is the big sticking point, there is no question that Dybala is worth £12m more than Fernandes, so we should just pay it. I'd happily bring Fernandes in but certainly not for the money Sporting want. Also I don't think he was ever on Poch's priority list.
The negotiating style of the club is simply wrong... If it were me we'd have no problem... It got me Mrs RCL and as long as she put the lotion in the basket I lower food down to her every day
It's funny because I haven't seen a single source placing him on much higher than £100k on his current deal at Juve. Some even suggest he's on as little as £60k, even though Ronaldo receives the equivalent of a small planet after tax. So we could comfortably double his wages. United waving wads of cash in his face couldn't have helped hence my fear that his agent is whispering for him to wait for PSG to shift Neymar.
Mate this deal is massive. Fee to Juve, massive wages, huge agent fees and no doubt a signing fee for Dybala... add in this complex image rights and as I’ve said, it’s one even Madrid would struggle to do in this timeframe, let alone Spurs. I doubt it’s just £12m left to sort, I reckon closer to £25m-£30m when factoring the image rights and added fees to agent and player. Utd even baulked at it and their finances eclipse ours tenfold.
He just doesn't want to leave Italy. he doesn't even want to leave Juve but might accept Inter if pushed. That's why he's making such ridiculous wage demands.
Like I just said to Spurly, it’s likely not just £12m more. So far, according to outlets we’ve agreed a fee with Juve. Some say terms with Dybala have been agreed others say still negotiating. There’s still likely a massive agent fee plus the image rights still left to sort which could range from £12m-£25m possibly even more. The Fernandes deal would be a lot, lot cheaper when overall costs are considered. He’d likely accept probably half of the wage Dybala is asking for, his agent likely won’t be demanding of as much of a fee and as far as I’m aware there’s no third party image rights to purchase with him either.
That’s the way I’ve seen it since Utd tried to get him. If anybody was dumb enough to pay what’s being asked, then just maybe....
It's all speculation at this point mate. Things are moving so fast this year across multiple clubs that the various hacks, journos and every kid with a twitter account is betting on one given outcome, supporting it with numerous given "insights" in the hope that this time tomorrow they can turn round and say "see, I told you so". When the dust settles, half will have guessed right and half will have guessed wrong. Only time will tell and even then, I doubt we'll ever know the full reason why it fell through.
Compared to last summer which was a damb squib, this year's D-Day is shaping up to be an absolute barnstormer. The bottom line is, if Spurs don't show up, their ain't no fecking party.
