Maybe it's old age catching up on me, but given the need for medicals etc are Leeds not leaving it a bit late, and/or running the risk of another Dan James scenario? Imagine the laughter up and down the country if we run out of time or get gazumped at the last minute and end up with nobody at 5pm tomorrow. Plus it's bad for my ticker. PULL YOUR FINGER OUT VICTOR!
Am I the only cynic who's going to watch Roofe's recovery from his 'injury'? Supposed to be out for at least a month (2 months stated elsewhere), so let's see. I just wonder if he got an 'injury' to avoid a real injury messing up his move.
I wish Pearce well for the future. He will do well, there's no doubt in my mind. Not sure if anyone can remember me watching the u23s with the scouts about 18+ months ago, when they agreed with my motm picks - Struijk & Pearce. Lots of interest in signing both for (the future in) the PL, with one exception - the ManC scout acknowledged how good he was, but said he couldn't sign him as he wouldn't fit in to the way ManC played. I never quite understood what that meant, and doubt if I'd have understood the explanation, but as Pep plays in a similar style to Bielsa, I wonder if they had a common 'something else' expectation of players. Doesn't mean he's a bad player, so should blossom elsewhere.
Thats it Just what i was thinking, but didn't know how to explain how i felt about it, but you explained it for me, beautifully, thank you Wakey
Anderlecht were a team to be taken seriously at one time. I proudly remember that we played them in Europe & we were the first team to beat them at home for something silly like 7 years. They were always there or thereabouts in Europe. No idea what they're like these days, though.
They have played in one of the European competitions every year for the last 20 odd years, although last season they failed to qualify to play this season. That probably explains why Kompany is their manager and they are splashing the cash so that they are in europe next season.
