Watching some **** on the telly about cops dancing at festivals.

Does this make them more approachable and human or is it a mockery of the uniform and their authority?

Does this command respect? Or the opposite?

Personally if you've got the moves (like me) buss them. I don't have much respect for them anyways. So for me it makes them more human and approachable.

Friendly is fine but not poncing about.

Making a mockery of their serious job. Can always dance in their spare time.

If they've got spare time at work they can find out or even contact me about the people who broken into my car or the person who robbed my workmates tools.

There's always a few at Notting Hill carnival that end up gyrating away.

It's funny at the time but I don't think it's a good look for the force in all honesty, there's not as much respect or fear of coppers as there was back in the day and this **** can't help imo

I see that argument but also think it can humanise them a bit more and possibly improve links between themselves and the community.

Tough one but I see both sides.

I trhgink they need to get the balance right. Dancing is good, especially at the Notting Hill Carnival where cozzer/community relations haven't always been great.

But I do rue their apparent unwillingness to stick the boot in or administer a slap, when required to do so. But what do you expect - who would want to do that job, when every little scumbag is filming them on their phones?

These are the same "pro-law and order" ****s that vote for a party that slashes their numbers, destroys the legal system and runs convicted criminals as candidates.
They don't care about it, at all. This is the virtue signalling that they all cry about.

I personally don't think coppers should be dancing on duty.

Small crime atm is pretty much not investigated due to a quoted "lack of resources".

Doesn't sit right with me to then be on the beat and dancing for the camera.

Policing is supposed to be about Policing by consent and most Police forces will tell you that they rely on the public to assist with their enquiries and bring about convictions etc. So I'm all for it, the relationship between the Police and the community needs to be a good one so anything that helps to build bridges in good in my eyes.

The argument 'Oh they should be cracking skulls instead of poncing about dancing' is just complete bollocks

You can't make a direct link between a copper dancing at Notting Hill being responsible for a petty crime not being investigated elsewhere though. That Copper is still on Duty and doing his job (which is also about forging community links)

The reason Police resources are stretched is because this Tory ****er govt has slashed 20,000 coppers from the forces.

That’s a bollocks correlation. They have to be at Carnival on duty, so where’s the harm in them engaging with the public by being human?

Crime isn’t being investigated due to the Tories binning off 21,000 coppers, mostly experienced coppers who went early to boot.

Pretty sure that everyone knows that individual votes are pretty irrelevant.
Doesn't make the issues go away and not voting doesn't make any difference, either.
