I thought Bielsa dropping Phillips into the back three changed us for the worse, if the opposition see this they’ll constantly have two up top to press us back

It was. Bamford did a good swinging arm though.

    Wow what a start

We played some scintillating football, a joy to watch with our Spanish magician at the heart of all our superb attacking play

1 down 45 to go, the championship is one of the toughest leagues in the world, just need to score goals, not gift stupid goals & finish as we started

    Positives

    Pablo

    Hernandez's magical strike
Hernandez dances round their defender & pops the ball on Bamford's head
    Bamford's header & his all-round general play, played like a proper No.9
Phillips outstanding again, so many tackles & interceptions, always there to receive the ball & deliver crisp passes.
White. Mr Cool personified what a debut, reminds me of Rio in his pomp at Leeds.
Casilla saved us twice when player the role of the last defender clearing the ball when Bristol were clean through plus a smart low save at his near post. Caught & punched high balls. Controlled not only his box but a third of the pitch.
    Cooper good at the back.
Forshaw & Klich looked in control in the middle
Harrison took his only chance well
    Dallas steady
Davis actually made tackles & we looked much better when he came on late in the game
    We took our chances

    Negatives

    Left flank defensively a concern.
Douglas caught out of position far too often, can't recall him blocking one cross into the box.
Alioski no better when he came on.
We appeared to lose control when Klich was subbed
We still panic when the opposition runs at us with pace.
    No clean sheet.

I don't know who said Phillips ruled the pitch, but after watching the whole game, I can honestly say Phillips didn't rule the pitch.

If anyone ruled the pitch, if it actually is a way of describing it, it was Forshaw and Pablo.

Forshaw had a great game and really stepped up. Pablo was Pablo at his best.

3-0 up and we become a bit complacent again, BC were allowed to step up and pressure our defence resulting is us giving a silly goal away......:emoticon-0148-yes:

Ok then we are signing two from juventus on weds. Plus we are getting 50 million for phillips half up front. Leif davis has attracted the interest of Arsenal because he actually made a tackle and a bid is expected shortly. Bogusz is being scout by real madrid who have offered bale and some spare balls as a down payment.
Meanwhile rads is organising a collection at first home game hoping for investement.
Lastly graysons war chest has been found and opened. It was found to contain a load of old boloney plus a list of false promises and 50p.

I only saw part of the game so had to take what I read.
I know there are mixed opinions about Phillips but he is in the engine room. Where he is going to see a lot of the ball.
He's no Kante or he'd be in the Premiership because every team is looking for a player who does that DM job well.
Where he plays he's not going to be able to do much to catch the eye, he's just doing a job for the team.
Batty did the job for Leeds and he'd give the ball to McAllister.
I'm not comparing Phillips to Batty but saying they both do/did jobs that don't make the highlights reel.
90% pass completion from Sunday even if sideways is very impressive.

Yes opinions are divided on Phillips.

On the one side there’s LL who thinks he’s ****... and on the other side there’s everyone else who think he’s good.
