I think he has the most potential of anyone for a long time. I'm concerned he might not adjust to the Premier league. Certainly, his positional play last year was not brilliant and he has yet to score or assist. If he comes good he becomes the first pick. But, people here have raved about others, particularly Kennedy, based upon a couple of games, ignoring his patchy record elsewhere, and he is actually all up front, nothing in the kitchen. I hope Almiron is actually what he looks like he may be. We shall see.
Hes good just end product atm but he creates problems regardless.. was class in copa america recently
To be fair to Almiron, Rafa played him out of position in a defensive left wing position. I think when he is moved to his natural 10 roles with less defensive duties, that energy will be transferred to his attacking instincts. Plus we know he has an eye for a pass from his time in the MLS, so having a strike partner like Joelinton will help his game.
I agree, he's not any sort of winger. I also agree he could be fantastic. My reservation is transferring his abilities to the much higher standard that is the Premier League. If you will excuse the cricket analogy, Graham Hick was the best County Cricket batsmen I have ever seen, but at test level he failed. He used to be called a flat track bully because of this.
Penfold must have been mumbling when he telephoned our offer if Lille thought it was higher than anybody’s.
