Apparently the scumbags new signing D.Santon has done his knee ligaments in training. Shame, gutted for them
Feel sorry for the lad, but i have a feeling this is why Inter let him go on the cheap, he had a similar injury a year or 2 back, and then they loaned him out back end of last year, then sold him, not sure if its the same leg or injury
I don't know if it's anything to do with modern training methods used in football, but there certainly seems more injuries now than in the past, and also more injuries then they are getting in other contact sports such as rugby.
Could it be the blades as opposed to studs that were previously used in boots? Probably not but it does require some investigation as to why this is happening. Alt: are the players molly coddled now?
I'd never wish serious injury on any player mind. Facts are, there MUST be a reason why this lad was sold, there MUST be a reason why he went on loan to Cesena, struggling against relegation, and never played. It's a shame if it turns out he is a crock, despite him being a Mag, due to an Italian grandparent i'd like the lad to hit the levels expected of him when he came through at Inter. I think the 'more injuries now' thing is purely due to the fact that professional athletes are trained to their peak, if tendons, ligaments etc are stretched due to carrying extra muscle and weight, stands to reason they are one step closer to 'snapping'.
At this point there aren't officially any injuries. He received a knock in training where his old injury was, so they decided to send him for a scan as a precaution. It might come back as bad news, but he might be okay. We'll have to wait and see.
