Poch on Ndombele: "For him it’s difficult. We cannot expect too much. We need to accept he needs time to adapt to first a new culture, a new country, new habits. Of course it’s only him who arrived to the club and that makes it more difficult."

Bit of a dig at the end there. Let’s hope DL is listening.

I noticed the Narrativists were out in force trying to blame KWP for Inter's goal, casually ignoring that if Danny Rose wasn't playing them onside there would not have been a goal to blame anybody for...

Inter were well up for it today.
They looked like the team whose season starts next weekend, not Spurs.

I suspect Conte also had some points to make on his return to England
    against a PL club.

That could've been said had he had zero rest over pre-season but after a nice break and time to recharge, it's tough to blame any one thing in particular. Definitely not ideal though, especially with Son missing the first two games.

    Back from the match...

Unfortunately, that was a pretty dispiriting afternoon. After we scored, we reprised large parts of last season by passing backwards and sideways. So bad was it I'm that hard pressed to name a Man of the Match. It was probably Sonny who tried to go forwards.

At the end of last season, we had a team that desperately needed fresh blood and forward momentum. Signing Ndombele alone isn't enough...it isn't even close to it.

I can't see that retaining Eriksen helps us. The number of challenges that he ducked today was embarrassing. In his head, he wants to be elsewhere. The best thing we can do is let him. Allowing him to sign a contract that encourages him to believe that Madrid are coming back for him, isn't going to help him or us. If you want to go, then do it...

Four days to sort it out... Currently, I'm not hopeful.

Cheers. I always enjoy going...good, bad or BITC. A full stadium as well.

It was an emotional day. Stadium looked beautiful as well.

He can't. He's not in the country, apparently:

If that's true, then he's totally dropped the ****ing ball. Completely inappropriate.

Moura on the left is a total ****ing waste.
Started on the right, scored, then got shifted to the left of the two strikers.
Completely disappeared, then got moved to the left of the three after the break, where he was even worse.
Lamela in the middle, Eriksen on the right? Nonsense decisions.

We clearly have virtually no depth and we're starting the campaign with a bunch of injuries.
We need signings and we need them now.

Inter can **** off, too. Dirty, cynical, diving, moaning arseholes.

I saw this earlier. Couldn’t believe it. And was more surprised to see fans defending it by saying things like “email and phones exist ya know”.

Yeah, so does a 5 hour time difference! <doh>

Two other things that I forgot.
Eriksen's set-piece uselessness has now extended to penalties. Perhaps he could practice a bit?
To end on a positive note, Son came over after the match and gave his shirt to a kid in the front row. Nice touch. <ok>

    Alternatively...

Joe Lewis is based in the Bahamas. The Bahamas are a short hop from Miami, as it's a 55-minute flight from one to the other, and the two are in the same time zone

With that in mind, if the reason Levy has jetted out to Miami is because he's asking Lewis face-to-face for increased transfer funds to get our business sorted in time, it's anything but inappropriate - it's exactly what Levy should be doing

If that's why he's there, then he should've made the trip months ago, after our domestic campaign ended.

Levy shouldn’t be over the other side of the world when the transfer window is close to ending and the club still needs 2-3 new faces and to possibly sell a couple too.

Perhaps Levy gets a large percentage of cash if he doesn't spend anything?

The most likely scenario is that the allocated budget was £Xm plus whatever we recouped in transfer fees, no doubt with the presumption that at least one of Eriksen or Toby would be leaving to top up the transfer kitty, hence we were so quick to spend big on Ndombele as the expectation was we'd soon be getting a sum of money for selling Eriksen to sign a replacement as well as potentially having enough left over for one or two other players

The problem was that nobody actually bid for Eriksen, so that expected fee never materialised - and while we did get a combined £28m for Trippier and Janssen, that is not enough to cover the fees for (to pick two names out of a hat) Lo Celso & Sessegnon, hence he has to go ask Lewis for more money so we can don't let our business slip through our fingers
He absolutely should be there if that's where the funds to bring those 2-3 players in reside for tax purposes and he'd like a cash advance

Couldn't even be bothered to spell Davinson's name right.

Unstickying as the season's starting in a couple of days.
