I've supported The Dons (Aberdeen FC) for the list 60 years and Naismith couldn't hit a barn door when he was here!!
Looks like DF didn't like what he saw in Middleton and head been proved right - https://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwich-city/middleton-for-hibs-1-6199165
Derby playing good football. Lawrence again, is looking one hell of a player. He could play in the Premiership. Pritchard is also standing out as a talent above.
The fact Pritchard looked better than most on the pitch...I think shows he's below his level. When he left us for Huddersfield, I was really annoyed, because even though they were in the Premiership. That's not a Club you leave us for. He was far better that that. Happy he is playing in the Championship, watching us in the Premier. But I have no change of mind on his quality or potential. I expected him to leave us for a West Ham, Bournemouth, Watford, Everton type club. That's what upset me about him leaving. He left us for a lesser Club, just because they had Premiership Millions that Season. I said he'd regret it. I'm sure he is now. That has not effected my opinion on his talent and potential. I can see him at Bournemouth, being a really good fit. Like when they signed Ritchie.
I thought he was a bit wasted in our set up at the time. Imagine him playing in the same team as Leitner, Vrancic, Buendia and Pukki
Which is where Maddison got it right and Pritchard jumped ship far too soon, imho. Had he been more patient, I'm sure there'd have been other offers. But not from Brighton
At the time FML, Huddersfield were the only club willing to buy him. I remember when he came back from his injury, he and JM played some good football, but Pritchard felt he wanted to be in the PL. I don't think he actually played that many minutes in the PL.
A fascinating read about the scouting system at Sevilla: https://www.nytimes.com/2019/08/02/...e8c49b03f637fe93bca81535198c®i_id=84608843 Could almost be a model for us, and it makes me much more confident about any potential recruits from them. But also suggests they have their heads screwed on!
Shame. Michael Bailey's regular NCFC column for The Athletic is behind a paywall. https://theathletic.com/1103035/201...silence-doubters-on-return-to-the-top-flight/
I liked MB, but now he's behind a paywall he may as well not exist. I won't be paying. Between; Archant, MFW, TNC and ACN there is plenty enough local coverage. Now we're back in the PL there will be some passing national interest too. Bah!
I wasn't annoyed, it was more about playing in the Premier league than the club, many Leeds supporters would have said the same thing about us when we took their players.
I was gutted when Bailey announced he was leaving to join a site I had never heard of. I’ve been listening to football podcasts all day at work. From the big ones, to even the lesser known ones. Hearing more and more about what The Athletic is, and what it aims to do. I’m pretty sold. Sounds amazing. Anyone signed up?
