Bit of a step down. Always wonder if hes one of the ones Ralph alluded to when he mentions about young players stepping up and needing to take their chance, rather than feeling like they've already made it and dont try as hard as they perhaps should.
VVD was overpriced at the time we sold him, but looks a good deal now. Maguire is overpriced at this point too, but the market's gone bezerk. We could have got £85m+ for VVD if we were selling now.

He was very bad against Derby - nearly got sent off. Sounds harsh, but I’ve never been very impressed with him at u23 level and there have been plenty of players I thought have looked better at that level and ended up lower league
