The Weekend Thread #31

Trying to sort the imaginary man cave out a bit this weekend prior to getting materials together to give it a lick of paint.

It is south-facing and gets sun all day long so the paint is looking a bit tired and where the new pine timbers have been heated up the resin has started to bleed out despite using knotting and primer before applying the top layers of paint. Looks like something I'll be needing to do every couple of years or so.

The combination of lots of sun and lots of rain has turned the garden into a bleedin rain forest so we'll be out with the shears and secateurs. Fair to middling chance of a BBQ too if it stays nice on Sunday.

What thrills and spills await you lot this weekend?

 

Bank holiday in this land of saints and scholars, going for a swim in the Atlantic shortly, racing tonight and tomorrow and plenty of eating and drinking.

What sanctified ***** are yoos celebrating this week then?

 

First Monday in August.

Ah ok, couldn't work it out as you said you were going swimming then you mentioned racing. I thought you were in a swimming race. Hope you lose at the horses.

 

Ahm away to Blackpool shortly for the weekend. Watch the football.

Thank f**k; Saturday 3rd August. That's me off to Koln for 16 nights of shenanigans, carousing and debauchery!

Might 'talk' again towards the end of August.

I , for one will be on tenderhooks waiting for you to come back and regale us with tales of your epic Germanic adventure.

 

Thanks; I suspect a narrative of 'cannae remember', ' not too sure' and recollections that I have spent a night or two in this drink/drug tank (run by the Roman Catholic church) before and the price has gone up might not prove too interesting.

If I remember I might relay some tales about some of the wee 'dives' I have found through the years which provide private rooms upstairs; are you with me folks!

 

Let's just hope that your auld ticker holds out and you dont die covered in your own shìt in some syphilis ridden Bulgarian prostitutes bed.
