You said you had been out running and had lost weight - you even posted a picture where you clearly had lost weight, so what’s happened

Thought you'd fallen off the wagon because of some life event. As you know I lost my Dad in April, after a long downhill illness with Dementia. I've always stayed pretty fit and healthy, but seeing that happen to him just strengthened my resolve to look after my body and mind as best I can.

Not saying that any of us are immune to degenerative disease, but I think you can do a lot to try and prevent some of them by staying fit, keeping a healthy weight, eating well and going easy on the booze.

If I follow that regime, I might just as well end it all, now!

I know you mean well, mate.

I want to get back in shape for my youngest. I can see myself missing some years with him if I don’t sort it out.

I used to party hard a few years back. At least a couple of weekends each month would be 2 day benders, MDMA, Coke, Mushrooms, Spliffs, a bottle of Rum. And then as you know with the gigging, there's lots of booze, drugs and late nights. I used to think I was balancing it out with the surfing and exercise because I felt fine. Then when I had my daughter I realised I couldn't carry on like that, being absolutely nutted at 8am and wanting to carry on partying, then having a week long come down and recovery. You just can't do it.

I vowed then to make sure I looked after myself so that I could raise my daughter into adulthood and still be functioning and healthy ! Then when my old man died earlier this year, it just brought it all back into sharp focus. We're all going to die one day, but my philosophy is to live as long a life as healthily as I can for as long as I can. I still have a drink, I still eat meat, and if @Slurpcock ever gets round to sorting me out I'll still have a spliff <laugh>

I just don't do any of those things to excess anymore.

I still party a couple of weekends a month but go to bed instead of carrying on.

The only times i go through is at festivals, though at Wilderness this weekend I had daughter so after she went to bed, we'd stay up for some changa nitrous and bed before sun came up.

However got 'adult' festivals next, so will be caning all weekend.

I exercise five or six days a week anyway, drink two or so nights a week.

And take class A two or three a month outside festival season.

But not to excess, usually in bed by 4 or so even on a night out
