Excellent shout and further proof of the old forum tip: "Always back a horse named after a Coronation Street character"
True. But nice to see, being a massive Harbinger fan Interesting pedigree on the dam's side. Nice little update required on the GB earnings
Looking forward to this fillies maiden at GG. Worth having the notebook handy. Salsa has walked to a tasty looking price but thinking I will have an ew dabble on HOLD FAST at 28/1 who is a half sister to Aussie Reigns. Trip should suit as a juvenile. More one to watch than get involved in too heavily.
Some nice pedigrees there, especially the top 2 by Golden Horn (and the top one out of a mare by Bering). Tasty. But down the bottom of the odds at 50/1 is an interesting one in Isayalittleprayer, by Nathaniel and a descendant of the great Vaguely Noble
I thought Harbinger died from injury after winning the King George. I guess it was just career-ending then......
I've had a speculative ew in the last at Goodwood on Glory Fighter at 25s. Looked like he could have been half decent not that long ago and a bounce back to form wouldn't be the biggest of surprises. Top jockey booked and big price. Why not
I thought he was staying on to win it but he wandered and gifted it to my old pal Nayef Road who stank when I backed him. Constantinople was pushed out in the St Leger betting, while Nayef Road was cut but Aidan has always said Constantinople is a big baby still learning the game and that they will go gently with him. This was another step forward in class for Constantinople today and the trainer said they would go gently with the colt. I feel he can reverse today's form in another month's time. Constantinople is two necks and a short head from being 4/4 this season and I think 14/1 is way bigger than he should be. Anthony Van Dyck ran a stinker last time and is far from certain to like the Leger trip. Japan is very short and won a weak contest last time. I think Constantinople is still a major player in the St Leger and with more time and this experience under his belt he should be thereabouts in a Classic that can be won by lesser grade horses.
I know you wouldnt let me put you off but he didnt look thoroughly straight forward in the closing stages today. Maybe not one that always puts it all in.
Salsa looked in need of further today and looked like the experience would bring her forward. She probably needs to win next time in a maiden to kick start her career but it wouldn't be the first time an O'Brien 2YO badly needed their first race and it's all about next season with her.
Eyecatching jockey change in the Epsom 8.00 tonight with Danny Tudhope taking over from the lass. Take note!
Perhaps he is a bit of a rogue but he was very backward last year and could still be learning. I suppose headgear of some sort might be tried if they feel he is not putting it all in. I have a feeling the Leger may cut up into a Group 3 level contest but we will see. I just hope he manages to line up on the day to keep the double carpet odds alive.
