He started training a few weeks ago and has been on the bench since.

This next statement is deadly serious (puts armour on to deflect inevitable verbal bullets)........... I would rather give Perch a chance than put Raylor in again. He can't do any worse and IMO would be better.

Since Pards has come in he's steadily got better with the few appearences, even clearing a ball off the line against Wolves <ok>

Apparently it could be a recurrence:

    However Pardew also said:

Surely if it was really bad there would be no thinking about sending him for a scan. Sound precautionary at the moment.

Agree, hopefully only few weeks if it is true. Ferguson is good back up.

Hopefully just precautionary. Guarantee Raylor keeps his place though, as much as we'd love to see Fergie play.

Apparently he hurt his knee not injured, could just be hurt from impact.

So what the deal with Tamas Kadar and Shane Ferguson??

Where's Erik Pieters when you need him?

Soon as I read this I thought "tell me its not the same knee" Pardew appears to confirm it is. So this is why Inter were willing to let one of hottest Italian prospects go! Been duped again, bastards. In all seriousness I think collective finger crossing is in order to ensure it is only minor. What an absolute bastard. If I was religious I'd curse god. As it stands I have nothing and nobody to blame for this!

Edit: Thinking on, Perch, you're an absolute **** and this is your fault. I may not be religious but I do believe in the darkarts so OT's voodoo theory is appealing

Let's wait for scan results before we play the blame game.

Although my remarks are tongue in cheek, are you suggesting we should have paased up the opportunity to sign this guy? Different class of player to what we have if he can get anywhere near his best. Think he's been fit for a while now and was while on loan at Cesena. Though I think he is a better right back, I'm glad we've signed him. Provided the medical was fine I can't see how you blame the club for him having a slice of bad luck. Unless you have access to their medical results of course..................

To be perfectly honest I would have signed Santon to play at right back and pieters to play at left back. Especially given Santons recent injury problems. Not to mention gambling everything on one left back. We have been lucky for a few years that Enrique stayed injury free. Why gamble everything on one player???

So would I but we had no hope of getting both. Mike was probably in cold sweats when told about the fee for Santon! I just think we could not afford to pass up the opportunity for Santon. He's a top 4 player at his best.

  17. Raylor has played well 3 games out of 4, Simmo has played well 1 game out of 4, so we should replace Raylor?

Give Raylor a break man. He scores 2 crackers, plays well most of the time, he doesn't deserve to be taken off yet.

Raylor hasn't played well tash, his poor performances have been disguised by goals and Simmo was much improved against QPR on monday.
