Perez looked a completely different player after Almiron arrived. What's to say the likes of Murphy and Gayle (assuming they stay) don't find a similar new lease of life in the team with Almiron and Joelinton around them?

Joselu was just pure horseshit so obvs had to go, but we might very well see a couple of different players in Muto, Ki, Gayle, Murphy, Aarons etc under our new manager and with some seemingly more attack minded players in our team now. It's at least worth giving them a go in my opinion, they're our players afterall. At the very worst we can slag them off and call them a pile of ****e......but isn't that what we're doing now?

I'm all for it and won't knock them till I can see what they can do,haven't seen enough of Muto & Ki to have an opinion but have seen too much of Gayle and I know what he can't do ie score.I have 2 memories of Aarons, bad hair and when he was playing at the back and gave a peno away. When you think about he played there because Dummett was injured and Enrique was sold and never replaced, hope to see Sorensen getting a chance.

He isn't a talented winger. He played as a number 10 in the US to Josef Martinez. Rafa just used him differently. I'd rather have Joelinton and Almiron over Perez and Rondon any day of the week personally. We still have Gayle too who to be honest did a decent job in our first season up. He didn't score the goals you'd like but he was superb at creating space for others with his runs. As back up he is ok and a step up on Joselu from last season. What you would say is moving Almiron to his favoured position means we lack wide options in terms of quality. We also lack quality in central midfield and the full back areas as we did last season. We could do with another striker of course too but I think the fans have to be realistic. We've blown a big portion of our budget securing one the most talented young strikers in Europe. Our fans moan about the fees and buying quality. So we spend 60m on two players and now its about numbers. I can see why some get frustrated. The fans are about as consistent as Boris Johnson.

At this point people hate for hate's sake in order to either be part of the in crowd or to ensure everyone is fully aware they hate Ashley. Half hearted fans like True Geordie, for example, really push this toxic agenda. He openly in his most recent video described us as a ****e football club, the new signing is ****e, the new manager is ****e, we are ****e, everything is ****e. For people like that, the club can literally do absolutely nothing so there is no point in addressing fan concerns, or doing press conferences, or addressing media speculation, the fans hate for hate's sake.

I am very positive about the Joelinton signing, I will be happy to see Almiron play in his real position instead of being a mediocre winger, but we could do with another cheaper attacking option in my opinion. I was not convinced with this N'Soki bloke and his wages seem outlandishly high for his mediocre displays of talent, **** him, you can find more solid in the Championship for less transfer money and cheaper wages.

****ing hell, people have very short ****ing memories. I remember reading endless posts on here over the years about Rafa's tactics, his insistence at playing with a lone striker, sometimes Gayle, sometimes Perez, sometimes Rondon and Joselu. None of the aforementioned are cut out for that kinda role and it blatantly showed.

Last season we gradually moved away from that model with the arrival of Almiron and it was pretty much immediately obvious that 4-5-1 just didn't work for the players we had at the time.

Nobody has a clue how Bruce is gonna line up, if he's gonna change it game by game etc etc, one things for sure, for a very long time Rafa didn't and stuck with it and it was ****ing awful to watch.

Dunno why people are knocking people who are getting a little bit excited about having something to look forward again. It matters not that that something is a massive ****ing unknown....that's part of the excitement.
