Embleton has looked very good apparently, Watmore was bright in the bits he played. I have to say I have only seen little bits of highlights mind and what I’ve read, some of the lads may be better placed to fill you in.

I have a feeling McNulty will bang a fair few in for us next season. Other than his torid time at Reading where he was hashly treated, and thats coming from a Reading fan ,hes been prolific everywhere hes played.

His record last season looks good. 1 in 2 in a league which is equivalent to maybe the better sides on this league and the bottom half of the Championship.

I’d like to think he can replicate that and if he does we are flying. Again, not seen anything of him I’m going in a bit blind into the season.

Stroll on Saturday, so I can start forming my own opinions, ha.

I know little about him aswell but going off the obligatory youtube video, he looks like the kind of player we thought we were getting with Will Grigg.

Looks ideal from that, and that’s in this league as well.

Wins a lot of penalties, and considering we never miss penalties that’s a bonus!

Like Willis he chose us from clubs in the Championship, so that bodes well for next season.
Id still love to see Marquis come in and Wyke leave but thats very doubtful

That would be the dream scenario, and I’m sure some kind of swap with a few quid would interest Donny.

Wyke hasn’t worked here but he’s proven at this level and could easily be a hit there, sadly for the lad he’s had the bite of the fans here and once that happens they won’t turn back, it’s a poor trait amongst us.

There were points when he had the good run towards the end of he season when folk were still having a pop from the stands, it’d be better for him to move. Donny is a good little club.

Yes a swap deal would be ideal. I rate Marquis very highly he could easily be a success for any Championship club so to get him in this league would be a massive coup

By all accounts he wants to come here as well. I wonder if we can do a bit now Oviedo is off the books. I totally get that £35k week was crippling.

    Player Ratings from Roker Report

    Lee Burge: 7/10

Didn’t have much to do - though there was a miscommunication with Jack Baldwin which led to Hartlepool scoring.

    Alim Ozturk: 8/10
Played well, distributing the ball comfortably from the back, and made no mistakes.

    Jack Bainbridge: 9/10
Looked very good in the air and defensively. Great performance.

    Jack Baldwin: 6/10
Made a costly error which forced us to concede.

    Max Power: 8/10
Max looked very good on the ball, played a few key passes and linked play well between defence and attack.

    George Dobson: 9/10
His work ethic was outstanding - he didn’t make any mistakes and looks a very good passer of the ball. Made some key blocks and clearly likes to work hard.

    Jake Hackett: 5/10
The out of position youngster made a few mistakes at wing back.

    Luke O’Nien: 8/10
Luke was very good as usual, playing some key passes and making some excellent tackles

    Aiden McGeady: 9/10
Geads ran rings around their defence, caused lots of problems and scored a good goal from 18 yards out.

    Marc McNulty: 9/10
The new signing was really good infront of goal, scoring three. He works hard and links others into game - potential starter this Saturday?

    Chris Maguire: 9/10
Overall he played very good. Thought that he worked well with McGeady and McNulty and some of their interplay was very, very good. Picked up a knock but it didn’t look serious.

Very encouraging write-up, starting to look like we have plenty of options on the pitch.

Good luck picking the A-team Ross

So would people start McNulty? I would. If he was our player I'd play him and the fact he's a loan doesn't change anything for me.

He's nigh on the only forward to score in preseason and he didn't just score he knocked in a hat trick, got to be in confident form going into the first game. Let's get off to a winning start and introduce Grigg and Wyke as we go.

Got to start. Play people with form. That simple.

You'd think he has to start. Any word on whether there's a buyout clause in the deal?

McNulty every day of the week, another 90 minutes of Grigg sleepwalking could be costly on several fronts, we cant afford to carry him forever, he cost us promotion last season as the management tried their best to justify his fee, he never has. Time to move on, if he wants to catch up fine, if not move him on asp.
