Because of the finances, he had two options Go to China and earn nearly double what he is now or stay in Madrid and continue to be publicity mugged off by Zidane.
like i said on the PL board, i hope he learns Chinese really well...like 3 different teachers a day just to piss the Madrid fans even more
As I mentioned previously, he could have forced RM's hand by saying something like, "If you don't want me then lower my asking price otherwise you'll have to pay me X million over the next 3 years for just sitting around or playing golf. Of course, on top of that he would have to take a cut in wages which would be acceptable if you're the type of guy who puts football and family first. I'm sure VDV could have carried on earning a huge salary at RM but to his credit he wanted to play football. In the end we got him for 8 million because RM needed his salary off their books in order to pay incoming players and it was the end of the transfer window. GB had them over a barrel but chose (or more likely his agent did) to go to China and cash in. I've got no problem with that in itself; I just think he did about 3-4 years too early.
Josh Onomah spotted in the stands for Fulham's 1-0 pre-season loss to West Scam please log in to view this image Time to ramp up the speculation that he's part of any Sessegnon deal?
Just read a short report on Trippier's move, he said that there was some behind the scenes stuff that prompted him to want to go. Does anyone have an idea what he is alluding to.
Not wanting to smear someone without evidence but wasn't there rumours that an England international had a major gambling problem after the world cup? Coincided with Trippiers loss of form but, obviously, might not have anything to do with him.
Knowing Poch's dislike for anti social behaviour he might have told Trippier that he wasn't going to put up with it and to find another employer.
I thought Trippier was running on empty last season and felt / feel that a full rest and pre season at spurs could see him regain his form. However, it was clear that there were 'behind the scenes' issues when we made it clear that he was avsilable for sale and then accepted £20m for him (sod all in today's market). He has let himself down with his comment imo as there was no need to give the press ammo to lob in our direction. He played in the CL for 3 seasons, was part of the final season at WHL, was part of coming back to the new WHL and plsyed in a CL and has got the chance to play and live in Madrid...he could have just shown a bit of grace for the fans who put up with some pretty appalling football from him last season with slaughtering him week in week out.
Dybala Watch Calcio Mercato are reporting that Juve are considering a move for Christian Eriksen Now things appear to be falling into place... Eriksen Watch Sky Italia report that Dybala wants to stay and fight for his place at Juve, so there goes their best chance of signing Eriksen...
I guess if pogba goes and bale then the ball starts rolling and then we may see some late transfer activities.
The irony of the remaining weeks of the window is that it would appear that the key to major deals is Danny Rose of all people... If he goes to PSG, we likely get Lo Celso. If he goes to Juve, Dybala becomes much more realistic. If he goes full stop, we almost certainly get Sessegnon. If he stays, I don't think any of the above will happen.
Someone get Rose to Juve..I'd much rather Dybala than Lo Celso. Either way....we are utter dog **** it seems with getting signings over the line. Not long left now and as usual we are dithering and lost in a world of excuses
In a matter of 3 days, the Dybala situation has gone from: Being interested in signing for us on Friday Keen on a move to united on Saturday Fighting for his place at Juve on Sunday. The bloke’s Craig David in disguise.
Not really arsed about Tripps' comments.Think fans are being a bit too sensitive about what he said, "behind the scenes" issues can mean one of a hundred things. Yes he could've chosen to say nothing at all but I also don't think he's dug out/ disrespected the club by simply saying what he said.
Think Lo Celso will happen as Betis need to balance the books and it seems he really wants to come here if we believe reports. Also think Sessegnon happens, similar to Lo Celso he really wants to join. And as ****housery as it sounds, it wouldn't surprise me if we've not signed him yet because he's been injured since the U21 EURO's and therefore chose to save on paying his wages straight away, he only returned yesterday/ today to Fulham training and so if I were to guess, he'll likely be a Spurs player within a few days now we know he's fit enough to train. Both of those are also regardless of whether Rose stays or goes in my opinion. Dybala is the one that's hard to judge and most likely not to happen. Persuading a player like that to join us will be tough, the financials are probably 'ok' for the club but it's convincing him to leave a title and trophy winning side to join us that will be the problem.
