At least we are not behind, I was apprehensive about this fixture, but so far so good, not the best starting eleven imo so hope JR feels the same way, no Maguire, Robson, and Watmore on show is a mystery as all three would be in my thoughts come the off.
Not sure what folks on here see in Willis. I don't like him at all. Regardless of the threat level, he only seems to have one gear. Unchallenged and in space, he cleanly passed the ball to the other team twice, deep in our own third. And he surely isn't 5'11" tall. That's Ok though, I want to see baldwin back in there. The new fullback is very tidy with the ball and is much bigger than Willis. Some people have Gooch not even making the bench, but he's put in three or four very good crosses, with no bad ones. Right now he is our only creative force. A very lively Kimpioka is embarrasing a seemingly semi-retired Grigg
Have you seen Willis play much or is this the first time? I’ve never seen him so can’t pass any comments at all. It’s his home debut so I’ll give him some slack
where is Mcgeady, Watmore, Grigg has not had a shot on goal as far as I know ah Dobson comes on ! where was the injury time ? 3 games now without a goal as well, the jock better get this sorted for next week. That team should been the team to start against Oxford what the hell is he doing ?, I bet Wyke comes back next week hehe.
Dobson just came in and we started moving the ball immediately. Grigg had a shot on goal within 2 minutes of Dobson's arrival. Pass and move means something when you're 6'1".
A little progress here, we didnt miss Wyke and we wont miss Grigg, this so called attack, wont get us anywhere near automatic promotion JR must come up with something better than this, or at least, be seen to be trying.
First time, other than highlights. I can honestly say he did nothing the whole match. Whenever, I saw someone making a play on defense it was someone other than Willis. Every one of his long forward passes was errant. Usually a 'through' ball is slotted down an open lane, but I remember one that went 'through' Willis. Did anyone else see him make a play? I think Hume was defending against a good player and shut him down for the most part. Flanagan seemed to struggle when it was his turn to defend the crafty attacker. After Kimpioka left, Hume was most lively going forward. I think it was Dobson getting the ball to Hume going forward. The fullback on the other side got beat twice, might not have the quickest first step.
Bag 'o ****e then.... Ross has some work to do. At least Kimpi, Dobson n McNulty have a bit of oomph.
