some surprises in there, but Williams win most consistent. I think Vettel's season went out the door the moment Ferrari said there would be team-orders, fate doesn't like that.
Wow. This a new low for Ferrari. Wonder if they'll have to swap the engine. Could be both Ferrari's on the back row.
Blimey, a gilt-edged opportunity for pole thrown away by Ferrari. Let’s hope we get some rain tomorrow and see if it can bring some drivers into play.
That's not luck.... That's Ferrari being well and truly incompetent. Honestly... What a bloody shambles. Maybe it's time to bring back the spare car.
Chaps forgive what might seem an amateur question but can I just confirm- however your car is set up for qualifying, does it have to remain that way for the race? (Parc Ferme and all that)? I was always sure this was the case but someone was trying to convince me otherwise recently
Why the emphasis on Hamilton? Ferrari aren't in the race for the title. Probably more luck for Max/Bottas for the chase for runner up.
You are correct, with a few caveats. If anything is broken you can ask permission to repair, but other than that I don't think you are allowed to change anything. I think wing angles changes are allowed on the grid. There are/were rules requiring that suspension changes must require tools to stop them being tweeked in PF or on the grid. I only remember this as I think RedBull were caught with 'hand adjustable' suspension units a good few years ago.
Wonder if ferraris double failure is just bad luck or them pushing the engine to hard to try and beat Mercedes in their own back yard? Although I can't see a fuel pump going boom from "over driving"
Fuel flow rate is limited, so presumably it's not something that gets "turned up" in quali. Think it's just unfortunate, or perhaps Ferrari forgoing rigorous QC to get powertrain improvements onto the car quicker.
I wonder if there is a pressure limit or maybe pressure spikes from a quali setting is causing a failure?
It does seem very weird that both Ferrari' s fail within 45mins of each other with different faults!!!! It seems like the 2 declared faults are not even related. All very strange. I wonder if it was a wet race would Vettel manage some good overtakes and boost his confidence? Maybe just a decent shower in the middle of the race? Anyway it might be a good race watching ferraris battling to get in past the slower cars.
