Sounds like we're absolutely battering them, McCann warned he'll be sent to the stands if he's not careful (after protesting too much to the ref about Dicko not getting a penalty when he was tripped in the box).

Madger Gomes with the goal. Sounds like some sort of public school reference.

Slutsky lives.... we seem very expressive going forward and useless defending...

Staying up this season will be a incredible achievement.
I am not one to to normaly view pre-season as anything other than gaining fitness but you can see how little he has to choose from.
Bowen, Henricksen will go on the last day.
"Not enough time" to add to the squad we will be told.
First time in 34 years but not sure I can be arsed this season.

    George Long

Little he could do to keep out Doncaster’s equaliser through Gomes or Coppinger’s second but he produced some vital late blocks that set the stage for Bowler to net an equaliser at the death. 7

    Eric Lichaj

City’s new skipper was typically diligent at right-back and pushed on in support of his winger when possible. Most of the Tigers’ problems came down the opposite flank to the more impressive Lichaj. 6

    Reece Burke

The centre-half looks primed for the new season. Sharp and alert to Doncaster’s threats before things became stretched late on. Denied another pre-season goal when his second-half header was saved. 7

    Jordy de Wijs

The Dutch defender had his problems in a defence that too often lacked shape. Strong in the air and almost grabbed a rare goal when his volley was deflected wide. A big season starts here. 6

    Stephen Kingsley

Doncaster found plenty of joy down his flank, including the first-half equaliser through Gomes. Made amends with an excellent block to deny Gomes a second after the break but needs improvements at former club Swansea. 5

    Kevin Stewart

Started off well as City’s midfield anchor but Doncaster wrestled back the initiative as the first half wore on. Came again in the second half as the Tigers found more of the ball when pushing on. 6

    Jackson Irvine

His support from midfield brought the opening goal with a sliding finish. McCann’s emphasis on attacking play is suiting the Australian, who has the athleticism to get up and down the pitch. 6

    Jon Toral

Got the nod to start ahead of Henriksen and looked in the mood during the early stages. Involved in a number of City’s attacks but his influence waned as the first half wore on. Replaced at the break. 6

    Jarrod Bowen

Unselfish play teed up Irvine for the first goal and his dribbling was a thorn in Doncaster’s side. Ended the game pushed inside as a makeshift centre forward but unable to get on the score-sheet. 6

    Kamil Grosicki

Doncaster struggled to get to grips with City’s flying winger and he might have been involved in three first-half goals with better finishing. A touch frustrating in the second half but still always a threat. 7

    Nouha Dicko

A lovely flick in the build-up to the opening goal but should have doubled City’s lead when denied on the line. The striker failed to build on that bright start and was eventually replaced by Bowler. 6

    Subs:

Dan Batty (for Toral 46) Sent on to shore up City’s midfield but not his best performance. 6

Josh Bowler (for Dicko 63) Came very close with a shot from distance before then popping up with a late equaliser. Great impact. 7 (STARMAN)
