The encouraging thing is that the team are getting to know each other before the real business starts - makes a pleasant change from our usual pre-season planning
I have not heard of an injury and I sincerely hope it is not your transfer hypothesis. But as LF said, “All players are up for sale”. We need to wait and watch this space!
Matt Smith. 19yrs Full welsh international. Giggs, likes him Guardiola will not let him go yet so is on loan. defensive midfielder rarely makes mistakes very reliable. Played a full season in Holland division 1 and won promotion, winning league with FC Twente. Formerly with WBA as a youth.
A detailed and interesting report (as always) from Clive of LFW: https://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/footb...ws/50495/amos-brace-brightens-picture--column It also included a link to the match highlights with are worth a view.
Pretty good thanks - though it is frustrating not being able to do exactly what I want to Unfortunately I have plenty of available recovery time as I was made redundant a month ago Just means I can check posts on here every 15 mins as opposed to every 30 mins when I was working.....
West Brom close to sealing £1.5m deal with QPR for Darnell Furlong after seeing opening offer rejected https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...se-sealing-1-5m-deal-QPR-Darnell-Furlong.html I am gutted if this is true for this price!
He was at a different game to me if he thinks that Eze did nothing much at all. Another Eze hater I presume? Eze glided past players as if they weren't there, had a first touch you only see in the Prem and played some beautiful passes, one of which was a through ball to Scowan that he should have scored from, but hit the post. Eze's set piece delivery was good too. Apparently none of this merited a mention from Mr grumpy. Eze has faults, the main one being that he slows up play too much at times, but I just don't get this dislike of our U20s international. Perhaps Clive would prefer a team of Mackies? There's also no way Amos was playing alongside Ball as two in front of the back four. Ball was definitely the deepest lying midfielder, with the rest ahead of him. I thought Oxford looked better than he gave them credit for too. Also, the ground isn't only accessible by car. There are regular buses to the ground from Oxford train station, much like the situation at other grounds. Not one of his best reports.
Sorry to hear of your redundancy but, as you say, you get recovery time from your op. Hope you’re not out of work for long.
Having not been to the game and only reading his report I wondered why he bothers with this at all, it was so miserable.
I didn't see the game Col, but a 4-2-3-1 will often have one of the 2 CDMS playing further forward than the other won't it? One stays and one has license to get forward.
Yeah true. But I think of that formation having two dedicated holding players. We didn't. Doesn't really matter I suppose. Amos certainly looks like he can get up and back from midfield.
The lad Smith from City is another CDM it seems and may be better than what we had out on Saturday. We have a wealth of midfielders and no strikers. Plus ça change
