Hmm, I'm not kidding myself, I am fairly sure something along these lines - with sports direct branding - will happen, but I'm disputing that photo is real.

It doesn't help you make a point on someone kidding themselves when the image of the building you walked past yesterday is water marked 'copywrite google 2009'.

I work with photoshop all day, every day, it could possibly be real but from my experience, I'd say not because of a few key errors.

<doh> I didn't take that photo myself. It's a print screened image from Google Street-View.

Did you see the photos I linked you to on page 5 of this thread?

"It is worth noting that edges and areas red in colour are often depicted as brighter in the ELA tests. This due to the way the photos are saved by various programs. It is not proof that image was manipulated."

    Doesn't really help much lol.

So it would seem my point about the fading on the stand is true. Now shut up. Also you'll take note that red in ELA tests shows up brighter than any other colour so even that doesn't prove it's a 100% manipulated image

I don't think there's any reason to doubt the images. The greyish "helicopter" ones could be screen grabs from the CCTV in the stadium. The East stand gets the sun belting down on it most of the day causing the paint to bleach. The stuff under the old lettering simply gets protected so appears darker. They could have painted over it but then they would have to shell out a few extra quid to do the whole stand and as such benefit the club... ah... spending money on the club... Someone could go down and take a picture through the railings under the milburn stand?

Pointless arguing about whether it's real or not - you'll all get to see either way next week. It's hardly the worst thing Ashley's done to your club but it does appear to be a calculated insult as I'm sure he would know how most fans would feel.

It did make me wonder if he's doing all of this as a last insult before selling the club off and going back to supporting Spurs... I would have thought that the negative reaction from fans would have cost him more by folks boycotting his shops than he would gain from this advertising.

Any photoshopper attempting that would clone an area without the letters on to create a base to place the lettering on, I can't think of any method any sane 'shopper would use that would leave behind a faded outline of the old lettering.
