I’ve never liked Villa, the fact they have John Terry these days just adds to my disliking of them.

I really hope they get relegated next season

Am I alone in noticing something very odd? Ever since the first suggestion of making a move for Dybala surfaced, it's like Lo Celso doesn't even exist

Talk of Wanyama possibly going on loan to Fener after rejecting Gala.

    Smart guy, **** Gala!

A loan out is as good as it's going to get for the big fella. Apparently, there's zero chance of him passing a medical for a sale but a loan might happen.

Terrible shame but his knees have gone.

To be fair to Toby I understand that it was Levy who insisted on the clause.

    And Levy has been vindicated.
Toby on a free next summer will be amenable to someone, but whether
that will be another club in the CL next season. is another story.

Everton have bid £60m plus a player for Zaha. Palace are reportedly "seriously considering" the bid <laugh>

Imagine if the player included in the deal is Theo Walcott <laugh><laugh><laugh>

HIAG might have to take up a permanent residency at the cock clinic.

Italian media saying we bid €50m for Dybala. Safe to say that's getting rejected. Guess Levy's testing the water, seeing Juve's stance on the situation.

    I heard it's Cenk Tosun

You know, the Cenk Tosun the Turkish press said we were really, really interested in signing a couple of seasons ago?

I think Zaha will go to Chelsea, a move like that will suit all parties as Palace get an extra year from him and the player doesn’t have to leave London but will get European football (pretty sure Chelsea will finish in top 6)

The assumption being that Chelsky do not start the 2020-21
season in a worse UEFA competition than the Goons do.

This window is slowly turning into the “spurs have a £100m war chest” of a few summers ago. There’s no way we’re spending £100m+ on Lo Celso and Dybala after already breaking our transfer record on N’Dombele.

Maybe I’m wrong and things will be different this time round, but I just can’t see it. I think there’ll be some sort of a net spend (as football seems to have changed somewhat), but I just can’t see us going from balancing the books to a net spend of £100-150m. It’s so out of character and history suggests otherwise.

It seems like he might have burned his bridges with Palace, if they're both seriously considering Everton's bid.
Not sure why they're not going after Everton, though. Everton sign Everton? I mean, come on!

Totally agree. The Dybala bid in particular smacks of all the gung-ho bluster with no end result we've seen down the years. Poch is visibly getting more frustrated with each passing conference when questioned about transfers. I think the real hold-up here is that we haven't shifted nearly enough of the deadwood. £10m for Dembele, £20m for Trippier and £7m for Janssen is generally speaking good business but not nearly enough to open the floodgates to investment upwards of £130m, as you say.

Thinking back to the end of the season, most of us were talking about losing one or two more players for decent fees. Eriksen, Lamela, Toby all spring to mind. It currently looks as though none of that is happening, which means the remainder of our outgoings are likely to generate no more than a year off of Wanyama and GKN's wages (we'll probably end up loaning them out), a total of £10-12m for the youngsters with no future like Onomah and Edwards, and a further £20m for Rose. That's around £35m in total. Enough to seal our Lo Celso bid or make the Dybala talk more than just talk, but my feeling is that we have to shift that lot for it to happen.

This is going to be a long 2 weeks, and Levy going to China for a week hasn't helped. Yes I know he was tying up deals for the long-term betterment of the club, but why couldn't that be done on Aug 9th? His control over transfer negotiations is such that if he is out the country and in a completely different time zone for any length of time, it does affect our ability to chase signatures.

Mate, Poch said he'd like to manage Argentina one day. So instead of going out to Argentina, he's bringing Argentina to him.
