I read that article. I disagree about YT being a deluded buffoon on a different planet. I think he's playing the fans like a fiddle, aided and abetted by Jim White. IMO he isn't too bothered about selling, although he would if a buyer appeared who would meet all his demands. If that was going to happen it would have by now. He's had every opportunity, but finds an excuse, for example the Arab consortium fronted by Varney was said recently by YT to be "Not in the best interests of Charlton". Dalman would certainly be in our best interests, but that hasn't happened either. The pretence of trying to sell up is only to head off the protests, which he doesn't like. Let's see how he fobs off the latest interested party which Prague is telling us about. He also raised the asking price for the Aussies after promotion, when he had said he wouldn't. Another factor is that he regards Charlton fans as scum, he employed bodyguards for Meire, and told Jim White he would not be safe if he came to the play-off final.

Donut would be a better word than pretzel.

Dalmat was a credible buyer with a track record in English football, and the finance to back it up. Nor did he need a try hard attention seeker on a forum to wave the flag for him, unlike the idiot Muir. The fact that Dalmat also appears to have walked away without a deal confirms what we all knew all along - Duchatelet is a dickhead and a messer. Nobody should be in any doubt how quickly he will pull the plug on Bowyer if we get off to a bad start this season.

Why would he sack Bowyer? It would cost him money, which would set him back in his dream of breaking even. It would not improve results, not that he cares about results anyway. He must know how popular Bowyer is, and he appears to me to be setting him up to fail as an act of spite against the fans whom he loathes.

I think the bottom line is RD doesn't want us to be in the Championship. I truly believe he is setting us up to fail.

The problem for Ole' Yellow Teeth is that Bow may have different ideas!... next January may be sparky with Yellow trying to sell anybody playing well whether we are safe or not.

He would sack Bowyer if only to spite our fans.

Too many times Lee Bowyer has shown loyalty to Duchatelet far beyond what the old bugger deserves. It turns my stomach every time LB tugs a verbal forelock to the owner.

If Duchatelet ever dared to sack him I'd hope Bowyer would then feel he is no longer obliged to suffer his ex-boss's antagonism and tells us all exactly what he thinks of the old scrote.

One thing that might prevent him might be if he was worried about getting another football management job.
But I'm not sure Bowyer would be interested in remaining in football management if it all goes wrong at Charlton and RD sacks him.

more likely Bow would be worried about how any comments would effect Jacko and the rest of the Managerial team.

Thevalleybest on ITTV has just posted that the CAFC website is down.
Just tried it myself. "This site can't be reached".

EDIT: Site still down after more than 15 minutes.

EDIT 2: Site now back up after about 25 minutes. A glitch of some kind?

Douchatelet continues to play his game of pretence about wanting to sell. I hope the Aussies pull out soon to expose his duplicity, and there is another protest in St Truiden. About 350 last time, hopefully more this time.

There's nothing to be gained by any manager publicly moaning about his employer. Bowyer did well to get a decent contract out of Douchatelet, maybe he is now paying the price for that; he certainly had Old YT rattled. It seems to me that spite and control freakery are key motivating factors for our owner. Which makes him the worst possible type of owner, and the most difficult to dislodge. I would go to St Truiden to protest, not because it would get rid of him, but because it would rattle him.

My theory, based purely on guesswork, is that Douchatelet has one sole ambition for Charlton, that is to prove that he, Roland the Great, can break even in English football. Once he has achieved this ambition he will sell. Probably on July 17th 2020.
