John Carew, Carew, he's bigger than me and you, he'll score a goal or two, John Carew, Carew

Just how good was this guy today? He's an absolute beast, Mensah couldn't deal with him

Is the "he'll score a goal or 2 right"? part wrong? Someone on Twitter is claiming it's "he wears number 22"? Confused.com

I think the "goal or two" is what Villa sang, and that's what I could make out from where I was sat (Block 28), but I've heard a few people saying it should be "he wears number 22", just to make it a little different from the Villa version.

I desperately hope its not a home debut thing because if we are going to defend that badly in other games we will need a regular goalscorer up the other end.

Thats just not a Stoke thing is it now.

Before the match, no word of a lie, my local bookies said this: "Going to be a cracking match, lots of goals, 3-2 to Stoke City, John Carew to get on the score-sheet." He's now my new best friend :emoticon-0103-cool:

Yeah, he's from William Hill, I put a bet on usually every game, never done a score-line/scorers before though! How about you?

    Well said Jowler <applause> 100%, never-give-up spirit :)

100% is a LOT more than the Villa fans are saying he'd been giving for them lately. He does brilliantly for O'Neill for 3 seasons then half a season with Houllier and look what happens, maybe he just needed a manager who believed him, and a good man manager, he's certainly got that now.

I might be wrong but isn't Carew out of contract in the summer? So he would be free if we decided to try and sign him.

Carew was really good yesterday, unlike Jones who is just bone idle.Keep Carew and get shut of Jones( if anyone is daft enough to want him!) Unfortunately TP obviously thinks the sun shines,so it won`t happen.Strange that considering he likes players who work aaaaaarrrrrrrrrrdddddddd!!:)
