Just comeback from temps of constant 34-36 degrees. You only have to walk for 15 minutes in the shade and you end up drenched in sweat. My advice don't go to Italy in July!
We have a customer where we have to work in the back of the freezer (compressor house) because the machines will not fit out of the freezer doors, the compressor house is around 12 degrees when the doors are shut and quite comfortable. The freezer is -22 degrees, I have walked through that thousands of times in just a tee shirt and never noticed the cold. One day one of the freezer lads started started talking to me and I was with him about 5-6mins, all of a sudden I realised I was ****ing cold, never even noticed it creeping up on me. I said the compressor house is comfortable but when they bring a machine out of the freezer in for inspection or repair the first thing that happens (within minutes) is that it develops a thick frost all over it (condensation) and your hands and tools start to stick to it
i work in a constant 5c, but when im in the trailers i set them at 3c _when im allowed on the trucks/ i go into the freezer often, and as i know wear specs, i can't see a ****ing thing when i come out of it.
My biggest problem, even after just walking the 100 yards from the compressor house to the exit into the loading bay
It’s ****ing roasting in North London. Like, a wall of hot air trying to knock you on your arse if you’re daft enough to try and walk more than 20 yards. Might go and stand in the frozen food aisle in Sainsbury’s for an hour.
It's weird as fck being anywhere in AC and then stepping out and feeling the wall of heat suddenly hit you. Weird to feel that here, it's like stepping out the doors of an aircraft in Egypt ffs
